My TV has lost the picture. The sound is OK.
There was a slight hissing sound coming from the TV before the picture went blank. there is no visible signs of any capacitors or components being damaged. I changed the bolt -on motherboard on this TV about 10 weeks ago when lines were across my picture and this resolved this problem.

If you locate the audio board, check for dried up electrolytic capacitors and dry joints around the output IC itself.
That should fix your fault.

Philips 42PFL7662D problem

I come across this every day with LCD Tvs.What it is, is dust between the layers of the LCD. When dust particles settle behind the front layer of the LCD, and the LCD is pressed i.e when cleaned, the layers can be pushed together, resulting in a shadowy streak. If the LCD is stripped and cleaned it will be ok.

sound s like the HV generator (flyback) This is repairable with a new flyback if that is indeed whats happening. Take the back off and dont touch anything but try powering up the set and see if the noise is coming from a part that looks like this with 4533b6a8.jpg big red wire coming from
