That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..
Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..
1. Open the back cover of your TV. 2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord.. 3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors.. 4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value.. 5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter
You need a live input source to the port that the TV is set to, or turn on the tv and switch input to a live input source, anything else and the tv shifts to standby.
I would suspect this has issues with the power supply, I would put it down to faulty capacitors, take the back off and look on the power supply for domed shaped capacitors, they may also leak a brown liquid like substance. Replace these and all should be ok if it is capacitor related.
tv works for about 2 minutes, then shuts itself off. the red standby light flashes 50 times, then the tv. comes back on for approximetly 2 minutes then goes off again, only to repeat again
hello john.
this is a late suggestion, but if you still have the set & the proplem
in existence.
then i suggest you check with the lamp---situated on the right hand
side ,two screws to undo--once in further two screws--pull back the
casing clean with a dry cotton cloth & with that clean the cooling
fan just adjasent to the case.+ remember to leave the tv on standby mode for 3 minutes before you completely switch it off ,as this helps to cool down the lamp the fan at rear still propels while the tv is in standby mode.--------ASH
My Olevia LCD TV did the same thing. I turned off the back power switch and pulled the power cord as well. Left off for a couple of minutes and then re-connected cord and turned on main switch. I then turned on the front power switch and it come on just fine. These new sets have computer-like guts so you have to re-boot them sometimes. I hope this works for you.
Right i had this same problem for ages! i cannot explain why but when i uplugged my DVD player (which was flashing its light at the same time as the tv for some reason) the TV has worked fine.
Thank you for your comment. I also had the question put on an expert site and got the same answer '' the power supply is defective'' so thank's very much.
