I have a Proton PLTV-30 LCD TV. It has only been used for 2 months. The remote control stopped working, will not turn on/off, change "source", volume, channel, etc. I am aiming at remote "window" on TV surround, changed batteries, nothing works. Any suggestions?     did hard reset, removed & reinserted batteries, still doesn't work.

    Originally, remote was working & when I went to change "source" it would not work. Then I realized on/off would not work, volume not working -- remote just quit. Any suggestions? Possibly I just need to replace remote?
    Does TV plugged into cable network cause any complications. For the most part I have to use the cable remote to change channels & also adjust volume. ???

Try to do a hard reset, and unplug the device from the electrical outlet for sometime and turn it back on

    Take the battery from the remote and reinsert it again, when you are done with the hard reset to the tv then try using the remote

    Well i dont think that the tv cable network will cause any problem, Its probably the remote which needst to be replaced as per you have already reset the device.

To turn on the TV:

Turning the Display On and Off
There is a power switch on the bottom of the display and a power button on top. The power switch is used to cut off power completely, whereas the power button turns the screen off but
allows the remote to continue working.
To turn the display on:
1. If the power light on the front of the display is off, turn on the power switch on the bottom of the display.
2. Press the POWER button.

To turn the display off:
1. Press the POWER button.
2. If the display will be unused for an extended period of time, turn off the power switch on the bottom of the display and disconnect the power.

Try website 1-800-remotes Factory orignal.Buy the exact remote or compatible one.Best result to unkown or not popular tv.It never fun,the univeral remote codes in the manual doesn't work.

I own a One-for-All universal remote, and my booklet says that the setup code for a Proton TV (without a built-in DVD or VCR) is 0178. I can not guarantee that this number will work with your remote, but it is worth a try.
