the temp lights inside the fridge blink at 000 000 three times then go out. We just used this fridge, ice maker and water switch 3 hours ago and now lights are on inside fridge but the temp lights are out and I cant get them to come back on to set temp. When i push the reset button where water is it just blinks and the water and ice buttons light up then shut off

  • Anonymous Sep 10, 2010

yes, it has functioned for 3 years. it is only about 5 yrs old and we just used it about three hours ago and it was fine

  • Anonymous Sep 10, 2010

Let me give this a try. Yes, the entire unit was working three hoiurs ago when we got food and drinks for dinner

  • Anonymous Sep 10, 2010

where do i find the rest switch on the unit if the temp lights dont come back on

  • Anonymous Sep 10, 2010

no, we had no power surges and no changes. I unplugged for 3 minutes and open the doors several times. plugged it back in and the temp lights were not lit up and when I pushed the button for temp up they blinked three times and then went blank again

  • Anonymous Sep 10, 2010

the lights in the refrigerator itself are working when the unit is plugged in. If you push the botton on the door for ice or water it will light up, but if you push the lever in the door to dsispense the light goes out. On the refrigerator side, the lights inside work to light the unit, however, however, the digital display lights that reflect the temperature that you adjust are not lit up and if you press the "colder or warmer" button to adjust the temp when it has no display, the display will blink 000 000 on both sides three times then go out. It does not appears to be cooling as the unit isnt making any noise at all just the lights inside are working

  • Anonymous Sep 10, 2010

three hours ago the ice and water both worked when the button was pressed on the front and the glass was pushed against the level to release the water and ice.

  • Anonymous Sep 10, 2010

Where is the reset switch? All I see is a filter reset button on the freezer side where the buttons for the ice and water are.

Very strange... has this machine ever worked correctly? How old is the fridge? You are certain the water line(s) are correctly attached and water is flowing?
Thanks, let me know and I can help!

My apologies, I focused on the water / ice not coming out. Let me re-read and I will add another comment here, one moment.

Ok, still a bit confused on the part about the 3 hours ago. You are saying the whole unit worked fine 3 hours ago? Also, have you tried just unplugging the power to the whole unit, letting it sit for a good 2 minutes, open the doors at least once (to make sure all power is drained from capacitors) and replugging it in? Then hit the reset switch (if the temp lights don't come on immediately) and let me know what you find.

    Thanks
    Tim

  • Anonymous Sep 10, 2010

Ok let me know what you find when you try that. So it worked three hours ago, you closed the fridge, came back and opened it and found it was having all of these issues? No power fluctuations in the house or anything else unusual like that?

Thanks for working with me :)

  • Anonymous Sep 10, 2010

Wow, this is sure a strange issue. And just to confirm, you just closed the doors normally, and came back to find the lights off? Confirm for me again, is it keeping cold, or does it not appear to be working at all in that way? Did the water used to come out just fine, and now it still does not?

  • Anonymous Sep 10, 2010

This sounds like something major happened inside, electrically. Possibly the brain of the unit has started to malfunction. Do you have the actual model # of the fridge, it should be on a label on the back of the fridge if you can get back there. Regardless it sounds like it may need a fairly intrusive repair if both types of reset (the switch, and a full power pull) are not making any difference. These fridges are usually tanks, but when they have problems, they are usually big ones :(. Let me know if you can find that model number, also, let me know your zip code and I can find someone in your area that could service it (if you'd like me to). I wouldn't recommend trying to do the repair yourself unless you are an electrician of sorts by trade.

    Let me know, thanks
    Tim

  • Anonymous Sep 10, 2010

It should be that reset button you are referring to, these units should only have the one reset button. In your area I would call:

    At Your Services Appliance Repair‎

    9532 Pflumm Road, Lenexa, KS‎ - (913) 888-2292‎

    or

    Linquist Appliance Repair Service‎

    5141 Lucille Lane, Shawnee, KS‎ -(913) 933-6209‎

    United Refrigeration‎

    3130 South 24th Street, Kansas City, KS‎ -(913) 722-6300

    In that order

I am going to continue to look and see what I can find for you, but regardless, you are going to want
to have someone take a look at it.

If you want someone official from GE to do it, you can call 877-303-0937, but that will most likely
    be much more expensive.

Hope this helps, sorry to hear about this bizarre issue you are having!

    Tim

The lever that shuts the ice maker off maybe out of alignment or the water pump is at fault. If not Take a volt meter to the water pump which is located were the water line connects to on the back of the fridge. If power is good and no sound or hum comes from iteplace it,

The display panel shows OF and now it's not getting cold in either the freezer or frig.

he letters "OF" on the display of your RS267TDRS indicate the Cooling Off mode has been activated. To cancel this mode, press the Lighting and Freezer buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds until a chime sounds and a numeric reading returns to the display, allowing you to set the desired temperature. The compressor should turn on in about 5 minutes and begin producing cold air.

Continuous beeping

Either any door is not closed properly or door sensor is not working, its not sensing the door closed.Or the problem is no defrost. The defrost is causing over ice in fridge or freezer section.

Reset the refrigerator by disconnecting it from wall outlet for 12 hours, then reconnect and see if still the same problem is there.

On some cases its issue with fan not working. There are two fans, one in freezer section and one in fridge section. If either of the fan is not working the controls will flash.
