in this case it may be you have to have the update on a usb stick. simply download it on your pc. or alternatively get a game with the update on it

do you have your ps3 connected to the internet via wireless or Ethernet normally when a playstation is connected to the internet and if for some reason it can't connect to the internet the next time the system is on it will show this messages also did you try to download an update and installed and if the download did not finish correctly it also show this messages
