My HP Officejet 5610v All-in-One prints and copies but will not scan a document... WHY?

there some reasons :

1- Are you sure to select the copying color not black and white ?
2- try to reset color ink cartridge ,
3- try to select clean print head

This Utility program resolve all the printing issue for HP Printers ( Network and USB connection )

It seems the driver version that you are using is not a full feature software.

Please download the full feature driver and than you should be able to scan.

Download the driver/software from HP website. Just type the model number of your printer

Try this link. It is the full intall file for the all in one being run on a Vista Machine. It worked fine for my installation.

Muck around on the site for a bit, and you can also find the same install file for Windows XP.

If you get the error while trying to scan with your HP 5610v All-In-One, the easy way to scan from your printer is to click on start, go to Paint and then File, the option "From Scanner or Camera" will come up.. click there and poof - you can scan anything you want and save it where you want... Problem solved!! good luck!!!

Try cleaning the white calibration strip under the scanning glass (requires technical knowledge).
