What BIOS settings have to be changed to recognize a sound card?

New systems have integrated sound cards, so most likely it just the drivers you need,

However, if you have a PCI add on card it should be plug and play. Again you may need the drivers or setup the PCI card so it recognizes it.

If you have an antiquated system then you need to find and adjust the IRQ settings in BIOS. Some software like games also have specific IRQ setting so there are no conflicts. I am talking old like Win 3.1, 95, or 98.

USB Printer does not recognize with XP Computer

In most cases, the driver for a printer is supplied when you purchase it. It is the responsibility of the manufacturer to provide the driver along with the device to make sure the working.

However, most of the Operating Systems come with native driver support for many known printers. This is the fact we have to take care while purchasing a printer. Even though we misplaced the driver disc, if we purchase a good manufacturer printer, there is a chance to get the native support from Operating System itself.

There are some scenarios where printer may not be recognized by the Operating System due to some conflict with other devices.

Please follow the troubleshooting steps and check the operation:

Flash drive isn't being recognized need to back up

Hello,

Regarding on your problem, in windows xp and up version of windows operating system, plug and play device is easy and no need to install its drivers manually cause the computer will automatically install its drivers. But in the case of Windows 98 you have to install your USB Driver manually in order to be recognize by the system. So my recommendation please insert the CD driver or load the driver of your USB and run the setup.exe to install the USB Driver.

Thanks
