I suppose you would need a SCSI cable with the correct number of pins that match your scsi ports. Some have 50 pins some have 80 pins and some have less than 50 pins. Count your pins and go from there. Have you ever done this procedure before? Did it work?

Hi,
on creation or compilation of any cd/dvd regardless of disk format or capacity. the finalizing of a disk. will write a TOC ( table Of Contents ) this will inform the drive reading the disk. whats on it. even if a cd or dvd writes 1 track of music. if thats all you put on the disk, and finalise it. that will be the finished capacity. if you use rw disks. you must format the disk before re-using it.
this will completely erase all previous data on it.
If as stated you are using Nero. there are setting options, to create a multi-session cd/dvd whereby you can add additional files at a later date. however this disk will not be readable, by any other computer-cd/dvd player. until the disk has been finalised, and produced the Table-Of-Contents. I would recommend trying a firmware update on the drive. What type of computer do you have? For example, HP has specific updates for drives at http://www.hp.com Otherwise, go to samsung.com and go to drives/downloads and search for what is called a "firmware driver" (firmware is software on the drive that will help it to either work better, or confirm you have a defective DVD drive.)

at the rear of the drive Then you will find The Three pairs of pine

I think their is some eye problem with your drive.
Because of that problem your drive is unable to read the disc.
you have to change your drive.

Samsung SH-S182... | Answered on Dec 29, 2009

First look and see the write speed of the drive. 1x to 4x is slow but recommended by all programs and this is initially the default settings for most programs. You must goto the settings of your dvd burning program and set the burn rate to 16x or higher.

Hello

I had the same problem. All i did was to buy lazer head cleaner disc, which you put into your rom and run the cleaning test. Mine worked fine after i did this. It is very cheap and you can use it repeatedly. You can buy it at any music store. Please rate this.

Best regards

The jumper settings are located in the manual. You can download it here (it takes a few minutes to download). I have tested it and it does work and has the jumper settings for you.

I would be most grateful if you would rate my answer for me. Thank you.
