My HP w2408 monitor. I just fixed this issue about 5 mins ago after getting tierd of whacking the buttons with anything handy. There are 2 slots on the underside of the monitor, in between the black frame and silver outer frame. Stick a flat screw driver and use a motion as if to literally pull the black frame away from the monitor. Use caution and dont stick the screw driver too far in. You will hear it pop. Do the same to the other side. There are multiple tabs arond the frame including one in the bottom center. Keep pulling on the free ends of the frame till all the tabs come off. Now you will see the buttom assembly, disconnect the small white connector from the montior. If you dont care for the buttons, which if you have a w2408 or any such model you will never use (auto detects input and auto adjusts) then just pop the frame back on. If you want to go further remove the 2 screws on the button assembly pull down on the silver frame to remove the button assembly. I did not go further then this but i read somewhere that if you wash the assembly in some liquid it will work again. I am guessing some good acohol from walgreens will do. For me I am just glad the message when away.

Keep fixing and keep sharing! Corporations that sell to the masses will show respect only when the masses unite.

Yes it sound like you have a fault on the power amp section. Perhaps a faulty transistor? It might be difficult to sought out, unless you have a bit of experience in tracking down these types of faults.

My volume menu from monitor pops up, volume auto-decreases

Was something spilled on the volume key? Sounds like it is stuck... you can use a fine toothpick and plain water to "scrub" around the key, there may be some buildup that inhitbits the key from "unpressing".

Hope this helps!

My volume touch pad does not work correctly with my volume icon on my desktop. By this I mean: The blue lights that turn off and on when you turn down or up the volume do not work correctly. I will have it...

yes mine did that too, i believe that it has something to do with messing with the volume before the drivers load, that means that if you mess with the volume in a different operating system, during boot, at the welcome screen, or during shutdown....you miss align the pad lights with the OS volume level, so next time you shut down drop your vol. in the software to ZERO, then on startup get the touch pad to ZERO, (not mute) before windows fully loads and you login

Computer will not boot.

Form the info you provided, you have a RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) disk array. RAID 0 (striped disks) distributes data across several disks in a way that gives improved speed and full capacity, but all data on all disks will be lost if any one disk fails. Apparently Diagnostics has determined that “Drive 2” is defective. You will have to replace the defective hard drive and reload the Windows operating system.

Stuck on start screen

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard

Then get the firmware upgrade

LG Volume to 100 by Itself - will NOT respond to remote

It's hard to diagnose without a model, but, given the problem I would say it is a 42LC7.
If it is, then, it needs a modification in the main PCB. We used to jumper coils at first, now we have to change the main PCB.
It's less than a year old, it's under warranty.
