Rwhite97, If your pc is working fine with substitute monitor, and w1907 lcd unit does same (black screen, or blanknblack screen) when connected to a "known good" pc, then you should visit and read some stuff at this 2005 blog. http://www.lesliewong.us/blog/2005/05/02/hp-pavilion-f1703-flat-panel-display-blackout-solution/ Then learn the flashlight test and what it means. Then go to YOUTUBE for video clips on lcd monitor disassembly and lcd monitor repair if you are into do-it-yourself repair. Remember this!!! Your w1907 unit uses the same basic design and operation principles that ALL brands of ccfl back-lit lcd monitors use. Good luck with the repair. Most common failure in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). It does the same when attached to another PC? Or www.digikey.com just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current, long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.
