AG-DVC7 I use AG-DVC7 and a AG-DVC, my question is, the AG-DVC7 keeps shutting down if I keep it on pause to long. I use this as part of a 2 camera system recording on a deck (not on the camera tape) I do not see anything in the settings to stop this from happening, can you offer any advise? Thank you.

Take the tape out of the camera. you don't need to put a tape in the camera if you are not recording in the camera.

WISH TO FIND OUT IF YOU CAN REPAIR MY PANASONIC AG-DVC7 MINI DV COMCORDER. WHEN I TURN IT ON, A MESSAGE APPEARS "THIS CAMERA NEEDS TO BE SERVICED"

I take the cover off the door, using the eraser as the end of a pencil - lightly press on the recording head (drum). Put a tape in and watch to see if the tape now wraps around the head and stays in position to record.

It turns on but when you push the recorder button it shuts off

Bad power switch... very, very common with the DVC7 and DVC15. Get the power switch/recorder button assembly replaced and hopefully you won't have the problem again until the new one decides to act up.

Need to replace lens

Hi!
The DVC7 has a 43mm filter thread on its lens. Depending on your Bower's thread size, you may need a step-up or step-down adapter ring to fit it to the DVC.
After checking if you have your sizes correct, you need to remove the DVC7's lens hood. After that, it's just a matter of screwing the wide angle lens to the DVC's lens.
Hope this helps!

Warning Dew Detected

Where are you keeping that camera? I would return this camera if it keeps happening (before warranty expire).

Recording

of course, the first thing to check is the record protection tab on the cassette tape. other than that, check inside the camera to make sure a small piece of tape label or plastic isn't stuck in the mechanism, perhaps keeping the record protect sensor switch from operating.

Clean the heads with a Panasonic MiniDV cleaning tape. I've seen many cameras come through our shop with this problem - a quick cleaning made a world of difference.
