Hi Faramarz,
I have this simple steps on how Google chrome be as your default browser. Hope it helps.
Make Chrome your default browser
If you like how Google Chrome works, make it your default browser! By doing so, future links you click will automatically open in Google Chrome. Follow these steps to set Google Chrome as your default browser:
Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
Select Settings.
In the "Default browser" section, click Make Google Chrome the default browser.
1.Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Internet Explorer.
2.If a message is displayed asking if you want Internet Explorer to be your default browser, click Yes. That's all you need to do.
If a message does not appear, go to the next step
3.Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
4.Click the Programs tab, and then click Make default.
5.Click OK, and then close Internet Explorer.
Internet Explorer is now the default web browser
It is pretty easy to set Firefox as your default. First click on Tools, then click Options. If you don't see the top menu, hit the ALT key on your keyboard. Once you are in the options screen, click on Advanced. There should be a "System Defaults" section on the lower part of the menu. Click on Check Now and it should let you pick Firefox as your default browser.
Are you trying to set Firefox as the default browser (i.e., the browser that opens up if you click on a web link in some other program)?
There are two ways to do that -- either should work.
Method #1 - through Windows (XP/Vista/7): (1) Go to Start > Control Panel > Default Programs (2) Click on "Set your default programs" (3) Under the "Programs" list on the left, highlight "Firefox". Then on the right side, click on "Set this program as default".
Method #2 - through Firefox (1) In the browser, go to Tools > Options > Advanced (2) On the "General" tab, under "System defaults", place a checkmark in the 1st box ("Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser"). The click "OK".
There is a type of spyware which sometimes can change your default browser settings in IE. I suggest you run an anti spyware program such as spybot or MalwareBytes and then go into the IE8 "Tools" menu and resetting the settings to default.
Tools Internet Options Click the Settings button in the Search section Select Bing and click Remove Select Google and click Set Default If you don't see Google, click the little triangle in the upper right-hand corner, and select Find More Providers
