Please tell me how to set Firefox as my default browser.

It is pretty easy to set Firefox as your default. First click on Tools, then click Options. If you don't see the top menu, hit the ALT key on your keyboard. Once you are in the options screen, click on Advanced. There should be a "System Defaults" section on the lower part of the menu. Click on Check Now and it should let you pick Firefox as your default browser.

I want to change my browers to mozilla firefox

Are you trying to set Firefox as the default browser (i.e., the browser that opens up if you click on a web link in some other program)?

There are two ways to do that -- either should work.

Method #1 - through Windows (XP/Vista/7):
(1) Go to Start > Control Panel > Default Programs
(2) Click on "Set your default programs"
(3) Under the "Programs" list on the left, highlight "Firefox". Then on the right side, click on "Set this program as default".

Method #2 - through Firefox
(1) In the browser, go to Tools > Options > Advanced
(2) On the "General" tab, under "System defaults", place a checkmark in the 1st box ("Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser"). The click "OK".

This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on this computer in Microsoft Outlook 2007. Links are disabled.

This issue arises when the HTM file association is corrupted. You can fix this issue in 2 ways:
1. You can change the default internet browser. for example: If the Internet explorer is the default browser on the computer, you can install Firefox and set it as the default browser.
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word-help/change-your-default-browser-HA001190694.aspx
2. Second way is to fix the HTM/HTML Associations (Restore the default associations for htm/html files).
-Take the registry back up first.
-Then, depending upon the operating system, you can download the registry fix from the following websites.
For Win xp: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm
For Win Vista: http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/105/1/File-association-fixes-for-Windows-Vista.html
For Win 7: http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/file-asso-fixes-for-windows-7/
Download the HTM file and double click on it to run the fix.

Unable to log on to my home page IE8 Windows XP which is my default page.

There is a type of spyware which sometimes can change your default browser settings in IE. I suggest you run an anti spyware program such as spybot or MalwareBytes and then go into the IE8 "Tools" menu and resetting the settings to default.

Good Luck,

Click the Settings button in the Search section

Select Google and click Set Default
If you don't see Google, click the little triangle in the upper right-hand corner, and select Find More Providers
