You have to clean the scanning glass. lift up the scanner cover and you will see a piece of glass 1/2 inch wide 8 inches long. Thats the glass to clean. look very close and you will see something like white out on it. Thank you, Steven 805-520-3003

Everytime I fax something on my HP Officejet 5610 all in one, the recipient receives the document with a line going down the left side of the page. How do I get rid of the line?

Lines on scanned and copied documents is usually caused by something on the scanner glass such as ink, correction fluid or trash. Open the top of the printer and clean the scanner glass surfaces with windex and paper towels. See this article for more details:

Everytime I fax something on my HP Laserjet 3050, the recipient receives the document with a line going down the middle of the page. How do I get rid of the line?

The way this ADF works is that there is a stationary scanner head and the machine moves the paper over it. The line down the pages is due to debris stuck between the page and the scanner. The ADF panel should open to show you the glass that needs cleaning. See the link below for full instruction. You should be able to test this by making a copy.

Hi i have a problem..i want to scan 60 pages and i have the hp laser jet 3050.i scan the first page and then it shows a message to the screen of pc ''would you like to scan another page?'' and i have to go...

Rena,
Put ALLof the pages into the sheetfeeder all at once.
The scanner will automatically scan all pages.
The sheetfeeder may only accept 30 pages, so you may have to do two scan jobs.

Line down the scanned document on a HP LAser Jet 3050

If you are scanning using the Auto Document Feeder be sure to clean the glass where the documents get scanned. A small speck will cause a line down the page. On HP there is often a narrow strip of glass on the left side of the platen glass.

I have a thin line all the way down the page when making a copy.

Check scanner glass and clean. Further test - Scan from the computer. If the line is still present, the scanner CCD is failing and requires service as there is no user servicable part inside.

Printer putting line down the page

I had a hp 3050 yesterday with two vertical lines running down the page when making a copy. All I had to do was to pull open the top cover where you put the paper you want copied and cleaned the glass strip with a rag and alcohol and the lines were gone.
