Hi Anne,
It is not a case of reset. The power supply section of your TV is damaged in the thunder storm. It is a common thing happening to TVs. Yes, sometimes, if you are lucky you escape with small damage like fuse and a few safety components. Otherwise you may have to replace the entire power board. Please consult some local TV tech,
Good Luck.
Check whether the power outlet has power. If it has, I suggest please do not attempt to switch on the TV, unless checked by a qualified service technician.
First check your power outlet, try connecting the TV to a different power outlet. Then see whether the LED light on the TV is on or blinking. Anyhow, this might need attention by a qualified service technician.
have u made sure that the out let has power yet? if not check fuse box. next, if has power to outlet, manually press power button not remote controll, after it has been unplugged for some time. view the back pannel of tv. and see if there is a fuse or fuse notification. follow manufactuar or owners manual instructions from here, google vizio support or call 888 849 4623 with model and info ready
If you have not tried it: UNPLUG THE SET FOR A WHILE then plug b a c k and see if helped-----what can happen if power outage is microprocessor in set gets confused.
