I have a HPp2081 and last night we had a severe thunder storm. My computer went off and when it came back on it had a White block with OSD Lockout on it. I don't know how to fix this or get it off my screen.

It is not a case of reset. The power supply section of your TV is damaged in the thunder storm. It is a common thing happening to TVs. Yes, sometimes, if you are lucky you escape with small damage like fuse and a few safety components. Otherwise you may have to replace the entire power board. Please consult some local TV tech,

Press and hold the "Power" key on your monitor to turn it on. Press the "Menu" button for 15 to 20 seconds to cancel the OSD lockout message.

Press the "Power" button on your monitor for several seconds until you see the OSD lockout message disappear. Unplug and re-plug your monitor power cable back into the outlet if the OSD lockout message is still displayed.

Turn your computer's monitor off. Press the "Menu" button for 15 to 20 seconds and power your monitor back on.

All computer monitors, whether they are LCD or CRT style, have a built-in feature called the on-screen display (OSD) lockout that prevents users from viewing any images on the monitor. If your computer screen has accidentally been set to the OSD lockout setting, there are several ways you can remove the lockout.

Power off your computer and then remove the monitor cable from the port on the back side of the computer case. Reattach the cable and make sure the pins are correctly screwed in. Power the computer back on and check to see if the OSD lockout message is still being displayed. Check the manual that came with your computer or monitor and locate the troubleshooting section if you are still receiving the OSD lockout message. Find the OSD lockout heading and read the method that your particular model uses to remove the lockout. Attempt generic lockout removal procedures if you no longer have the manual that came with your monitor. Press and hold the "Menu" button located at the bottom of your monitor for 15 seconds and wait to see if the OSD lockout message disappears. Press the "Menu" button again if the lockout message remains on the screen. Use the arrow buttons to navigate through the main menu options. my monitor always fading into sleep mode or some thing,on & off etc..

try to plug it in another outlet, if it still wont power on, local technician can fix the problem , power supply or output is defective..
