Do you have a newer one (red and yellow box) or an older one (bubble box or white box?). If it says 'direct connect' in a reddish box it has a really cruddy FM modulator, if it is an older model from the clear plastic bubble box or white box, it has a really, really strong FM transmitter in it (so strong, the FCC outlawed it) and you can use it to transmit to an empty FM channel (within 50 feet of your radio!) So my answer is, simply go to the 'MENU" and under "FM Frequency" select an empty channel in your area, like 107.3MHZ and then set your car radio to 107.3 FM and it will come thru. You can also adjust the "Audio Level" in the MENU to make it even louder. Should work real well, Just check at the very ends of the FM band for channels first and try to set it 2 channels away from an active channel, so if you have a station on 106.5, you want to be on 106.9 or higher, etc.. Okay?

Took my Pioneer CT=1040W apart. Main belts for both dual tape decks were melted onto the pulleys. There is also another belt on the B tape deck. Appears to be intact, but can't see where it goes.

The repair of a dual cassette deck is usually not worth it if you are paying a Technician but since you are doing it yourself, there are screws that must come out of the deck to take the transport out. Some of them require you to take the plastic door off. They are not a treat to work on and often even when you are done they have poor performance anyway. Where the belt goes is indicated on the pictorial diagrams of the service manual. Otherwise it is common sense and a little bit of physics. I have probably done 400 by now. Maybe some TV shops will work on it but they are really not real Technicians for tape decks and most times hacks.

How do I get a stuck cassette tape out of the Tascam 202 MKiii

With this kind of mechanism you need to open the deck up and assist the cam wheel by hand to get the eject block and heads to go down to the stop mode. This is the only way to get a tape out without destruction to both tape and machine. I have done it a few times. If you can not do it yourself, I am in the Chicago area as Skywave Tape Deck Repair. I can get the tape out.

Not all cd tapes play clearly out of 12 tapes ,4 sound ok ,8 soundwrak

Are these all commercial pre-recorded tapes? Or are they tapes that were recorded at home? Is the tape deck one that the tape loads in from the short side and must be flipped around to play the other side....or is it one that the tape loads in with the tape facing in and is auto-reversing? Pre-recorded commercial tapes should work on most machines without problems. Home recorded tapes can be a problem, especially on the type of deck that the tape must be swapped over to play the reverse side. Many users use C90 or C120 tapes to home record. These tapes are thinner than normal tapes and are prone to getting overly tight and then can break and/or stretch. This causes jamming in the deck and distortion of the playback.

On a kenwood KR597 reciever, where do i hook up my KE597 graphics equalizer. Also must i remove my DP-R797 cd player to hook up my Maeantz PMD520 Cassette deck? Finally divorced

If you only have one set of tape in/out connectors, then hooking up two tape decks and an equalizer is going to be difficult. You could hook the "tape out" to one tape deck, that tape's output to the second tape, and the second tape's out to the equalizer, connecting the output of the eq back to your receiver....

The door those not close when I put a cassette in it. I closes normaly without a tape. Does anybody know this problem ?

alot of cassette tape deck doors actually come off, they clip onto the inner door assembly, if the outer part isnt clipped on correctly, it may shut without a tape, but not with a tape inserted, try to see if the outer door is clipped on there correctly, jim d

Delphi skyfi2 Xm Radio Receiver car connection

Yes, you can buy an FM Direct adapter that will allow you to transmit directly to your car FM tuner, but if you have an older SkyFi2, the Fm transmitter is so strong, you can sit the radio on the floor and tune your car radio to your preset XM channel, like 107.1 FM and it will work great. Go into "Menu" and pick a channel that's not used locally.

Tape deck spitting tape out

Time for a new car stereo. I recommend something that you can plug a flash drive into that will provide hours of listening pleasure. Repairing the factory tape deck is not going to be economical. Since the stereo has to be removed to diagnose it, much less repair it, just fill the hole with something else. If you absolutely love the factory deck, salvage yards everywhere have them available for less than the cost of a repair.

Just connect you EQ to your receiver as if it were a tape deck: EQ's outs connect to receiver's tape ins (play) and EQ's ins connect to receiver's tape outs (record).

Then you hook the tape deck up to the tape ins and outs on the EQ: Tape deck outs connect to EQ's tape ins (play) and tape deck ins connect to EQ's tape outs (record).

This will put the EQ in your receiver's tape loop. To hear the EQed signal with all receiver sources you'll need to engage the 'Tape Monitor' button or switch which will route the tape loop to the speakers.
