Red picture I just bought this TV from someone who claims he only had this LCD panel TV for about 1 year. When you power the TV up it's usually fine for about 1 min and then it goes slowly to a redish backgroud color. While watching it switches from red to normal ( black background) and back to red. I tried adjusting the settings but no luck. The other colors are fine( blue, green, yellow etc) and the pic is pretty clear. You can still watch TV but its starting to bother me. Is there anything i can do? I heard taking the front panel off certain TV's and adjusting it that way could help. Westinghouse is not the easiest TV to get repaird. I called around and no one is authorized to even get parts. Will this be pricy? Thanks

I have no idea what to do but I think I'll go back to Best Buy and see if they'll stand by the product they sell. I bought this LCD 2 1/2 yrs. ago so we'll see!red shadows-This would happen every now and then but it's ALWAYS now.

I would just call westinghouse and lie saying that you are still under warranty. Everything I have read about their tech support screams poor communication, confusion, and lack of manpower, so it would probably work.

Under a year, this tv was bought?Tv still have warrenty, call Samsung for warrenty repair.Not.Tv power on have flashes of pictures, few sec.than dies, have only sound left?Yes.Ur tv have dead 1 or 2 long board call the LCD inverter boards. These 1 or 2 long LCD inverter boards help the LCD screen to have a backlight to produre a picture.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy those refurbishes 1 or 2 LCD inverter long boards for the replacement.
Very well could be the circuit board. What you describe is VERY common in newer tv's. The company says this supposedly this will be fixed
in the new firmware they claim will be sent out soon. The only way you shouldn't experience it, is if I hook nothing to the HDMI input.
My solution is: You have entered a diagnostic color test. With the TV powered on, hold
the 'Menu' & 'Enter' together, then press the power button.
This sound like you are having problems with the power supply board. Since you are getting a momentary picture and sound the fuses are good but TVs today have "shorts" and "overvoltage" circuitry build in that will shut it down on errors. Someone knowledgeable in electronics will have to isolate the exact cause.
if you have your receipt or bank statement and bought it from Tesco, then give the helpline a call on 0845456676 and they will issue a otm (over twelve month) form, this will allow you to hopefully claim back either partial exchange or partial refund
I would take it back. I know from purchasing an Insignia LCD from them a while back, the TV just died after about 4 or 5 months. They ended up offering me another TV or with store credit. I took the store credit and chose another TV. I also did not have a warranty. I was told since it was Insignia (which is a Best Buy house brand) that replacing it was not a problem. Good luck.
I had the same problem with my LTP227W and it is also about 4 years old. Took it in to be fixed and they found it was two capacitors in the power supply. Parts for this TV are not available anymore but they were able to repair the power supply. The TV works fine now. Hopefully I can get another four years out of this. Repair cost was $150.
Take it back to the store you bought it from. contact Samsung about this model. and politely demand a recall/file class action claim, or for the manufacturer to describe this model as a 1-3year disposable LCD TV
