Hi my tv just won't turn on. I've had this tv for about a year and this is the first time I've encountered this problem. I tried unplugging and replugging in all the wires but nothing seems to help. The little power blue light comes on, but thats about it.
I had the same problem...turned out it wasnt the TV at all. It was actually the wall socket. Seems I had to many things plugged into one wall supply. (i.e. xbox 360, wii, audio reciever, dvd player, vcr, etc...) after switching some other items to a different socket my TV works GREAT!! I hope your problem is this simple!
Ok, believe it or not, i am a 13 year old boy. ya i know whatever i oviousely know the problem and u don't so don't think i'm stupid. i found a westinghouse lcd at a dump, and thought i should try it out. it worked the very first time, and then when i unplugged it and used it with another plug, it wouldn't turn on. LISTEN GUYS, WE ALL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, AND DID THE SAME THING. WE ALL *UNPLUGGED THE TV*! this is that you have to do: unplug the AC adapter or power adapter from the tv, and from the wall. most likely its not the cord that is the problem. the tv needs to cool. leave the tv with on wires in it for about 3 hours, and then try again. if atleast 5 hours pasts and it still wont work, then you have blown a fuse.
GUYS MY THING WAS A TYPO! YOU HAVE TO LEAVE THE TV WITH*OUT* THATS RIGHT WITH *OUT* THE WIRES IN IT SORRY GUYS! IT WAS A TYPO!
Dont worry about your age. If you know what your doing then it doesnt matter how old you are. :) have a Blessed Day ..... On Purpose.

Same issues. my tv is back on. when the blue light came on i kept hitting the input button on the remote and it reconized the hdmi input and came back to life. good luck all. hope this helps.
Please check if there is a blown fuse inside... be very careful when your planning to DIY.
yes. it is a common problem that if a tv doesnt turn on. that the very first thing you will need to check . was there any power outage ? this is usually the reason why the fuse goes bad. power outages and surges.
since your tv is a westinghouse, im not very familiar with the part #s. anyway, it is still a common problem and yes. the fuse is indeed located in the power supply and most probably that the only thing you will need to replace. if there was any complications within the power supply, have yourself a certified electrician/technician to visually see whats wrong with it.

Mine is doing the same thing basically. Powers on (blue light), then the screen immediately turns all white then fades to dark blue. I’ve tried everything listed above to no avail! .....My .Major issue tho is that there is no ‘INPUT’ button on the tv or the remote. Would it be called something else.. like ‘source maybe?
Inverter board. If all resistors are good

I have the same exact problem. I have a model LD-3237 and the tv will not turn on. But after reading these comments iam pretty sure that the solution is either: unplug the tv and let it cool down, or you have too many thingspluged in into one wall plug.

I'm not very experienced with the technical stuff.. do you mean i have to open my tv?? Do you think this is a powersupply problem? if so what is the product number fo it?
I'm not a very technical person... or experienced with fixing tvs.. do you have any other suggestions? is this a common problem? I've noticed that others mentioned it was a power supply issue and all they had to do was get it repaced. if so do you know the part number?
The blue light is on but I can not turn the television on. The only way to make the bue light go off is to unplug the tv.
I have a westinghouse LTV-32w1 set and I am having problems with the manual controls. The power on. volume and channel changing switches on the side of the set stopped working. The remote is also not functioning. The only way to turn the set off is to unplug it. I have not done this as I suspect I will not be able to power it back on. Any suggestions?
I have a LTV-32w4 HDC,(westinghouse) was watching it then the power turned off. I tried to unplugging and plugging it to the outlet no results. I know the outlet works because I plugged something else and it worked fine.
I had this tv about a year. Is this a power supply issue? If so where can I get one and how much?
blue led stays on but no picture
I will turn the tv on and it may stay on a moment and then will turn off. It does this constantly and we have to try to get it back on or it will stay off for a while
I was out of town for a week and when I returned my TV would not come on. My DVD and satelite box are on.
I am having the same problem. I dont have a power adaptor. just a regualar power cord like you might see on a computer. Is the power supply and fuse referred to internal? and what is the difficulty of getting at it?
i had my 32" flat screen tv for about 2 yrs. worked great, then one day just didn't turn on. the little blue light comes on, but thats it. nothing else shows signs of life. Is is worth it to get it fixed, can i do it myself?
same ********...they do this on purpose, had it for two years and one day...BAM! it doesnt turn on...this is the last time i purchase a piece of **** westinghouse!
I have a flat screen L C D tv one year and one month old.All I have is a blue light no picture no sound. What is the problem? Unplugedand waited a while repluged it back in to nothing.
I called the Westinghouse customer care and they asked me to reset i.e. unplug it, leave it for a min and then start TV. It worked once but now its nto working anymore. The blue light comes on directly, it seems it has some problem with detecting the signals from different sources....
My tv is turning ON (blue light on) but the screen still OFF and the sound too. After a few seconds (About 5seconds) the blue light is turning orange. Is it possible that a power supply problem ?
I had the same exact symptoms as everyone else, about 15 months after I purchased the TV it died. The only fix I can find online (since Westinghouse is no help whatsoever) is to replace the main board which is $175.00 for a used one! I hate to admit it, but really the only fix is to go to the store and buy a Sharp or Sony!
I have a 19" Westinghouse LCD and am having the same problem as everyone else. Have had the TV for about 15 mos. came home and it wont turn on. Way to go Westingthouse. Last time a buy anything from you....
My Westinghouse quit working and I read, on another forum, to unplug it and wait 10 minutes, plug it back in and hold the on/off button for 60 seconds. I did unplug my set and plugged it back in after 30 minutes. Instead of holding the on button for 60 seconds, I just touched it as I usually do and the set powered on! Yay for me!
My 50 inch Westinghouse model number WD50UCA300 will not show anything. When I turn the TV on, the red light changes to blue and that is it. I have tried unplugging and plugging back in.
I had a switch at the bottom of my tv and I switch it on and it worked.
