99% of the time this is the power board.
There are way too many guides here on how to get to it and what to look for.

If you don't have the time to dig, replace the whole board:
http://www.discount-merchant.com/PROTRON-FSP232-4M01-p/1183722.htm

Bear in mind there is a chance it might not be the power board, though!

I'd test the 5V standby output it should be producing before I order replacement.

Hope this helps!

We had a power outage, now pixma Mx410 won't come on, any ideas?

Is pinter plugged into a power strip? Try plugging directly into wall. Make sure wall outlet is working correctly, try another item in plug in. Does printer have a power module or brick that is plugged into printer? That power module is there to protect your printer during a power surge, it may need to be reset. Is there a light on that brick or power module? If so, does it light up? If not, could be a bad power module. There is no such thing as "reset" button, so don't look there...It will have to be reset in a series of ways for an "external" module.
  1. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, power strip, or surge protector.
  3. If the printer uses a power module with a detachable power cord, disconnect the cord from the power module.
  4. Wait 15 seconds.
  5. If the printer uses a power module with a detachable power cord, reconnect the power cord to the power module.
  6. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  7. Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet. Do not use a power strip or surge protector.
  8. Check to see if the power module or the power cord has an indicator light and if it is on
For an internal module:
  1. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, power strip, or surge protector.
  3. Wait 15 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  5. Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet. Do not use a power strip or surge protector.
  6. Check to see if the power module has an indicator light.
Not sure if this will help you..but worth a try.....

PIXMA MG5350 WILL NOT POWER UP. HAVE CHECKED THE PLUG FUSE.

Unfortunately, I believe the printer will need to be replaced.
If you have verified the power outlet is good, there are not many options. No reset for 'No power'.

My projector won't turn on, only the power light shows red, the status light is blank. Tried the remote and manually turning it on.

Hello
If the power light is ON and status light is OFF; check if any objects are blocking the air inlet or outlet grill, and remove them if any, and carry out the following.
[1] Unplug the power cord from wall outlet.
[2] Make sure that the projector has cooled off.
[3] Plug the power cord into the wall socket.
[4] Press the power button.
Check whether the cooling fan has stopped. The problem is with overheating itself.
If these does not help you, your projector need service. OK.

There is no power to the speaker, the green light is not showing. We have changed the plug fuse but this was not the problem

If you're talking about a powered subwoofer pluged into an electrical wall outlet check the wall outlet. One of my kids could not get a lamp to turn on in the den. It turned out the outlet was switched off from accross the room by a wall light switch. To check your electric wall outlet, plug in something, like a lamp, fan or a clock and see if it turns on. If not, look for wall light switches and flip them on and off. If it (example fan) dosn't turn on, you have a problem with your house electrical system. Probably right there at that outlet.

No power. Will not turn on

Not intended to offend;
1. If using A/C (house electrical power), please check if electrical wall outlet is active. Attempt to plug-in another electrical device such as a lamp, clock, radio, etc.. If the electrical wall outlet has top and bottom plugs, try the top and then the bottom plug to see which one works. Sometimes, the top outlet will not work, yet the bottom outlet does work. The wall outlet should be replaced by qualified technician.
2. If both outlets do NOT work, and the outlet is GFCI breaker protected, maybe pressing the RESET switch on the outlet will power-up the outlet.
3. If the outlet is NOT GFCI breaker protected, check your electrical fuse box for a tripped fuse. Sometimes, a tripped fuse is NOT visible. May have to trip the specific fuse or all fuses to off, then back on. Recheck the wall outlet.
4. Once your know the outlet is live, check the power cord (a/c adapter for laptops) to make sure they are securely plugged-in to both the wall outlet AND the PC or Laptop.

Will need more information once the above steps are taken:

Is it a Desktop or Laptop?
Make and Model (if known)?
Any lights (glowing) on the desktop or laptop?
Any lights on the A/C adapter if its a laptop?

Cannot turn on the printer even if connections are ok ?

The only thing that could stop you from turning the printer on other than a broke printer is the power/power cord is not connected. The printer should turn on without a USB or parallel printer cable attached.

If no lights are showing when you try to power the printer, check the power connection in the back of the printer to ensure it is plugged in, check the plug into the adapter is connected and that the power cord's plug is connected to the wall outlet - if you have a power strip make sure it is turned on and the circuit breaker is not popped. Make sure that there is power to the outlet by plugging in something else to show it has power. If all of those check out ok and you have a meter, check for voltage at the power connector at the printer (pull the plug out of the printer and check voltage from inside the plug to outside the plug. It should be 18 vac.

If all of this is ok, there is something wrong inside the printer. Probably time for a new one as cost to repair is probably too high.

No power

Do you have power in the wall? Plug in a light or radio to see if you have power. No power, reset the breaker. Power in the wall ... is the cord ok? Check both parts of the outlet.

Turning on i guess

It should work OK once you plug it back in. Note there are three places to check the power connection.
- The power pack has to be inserted firmly
- the cord that goes into the power pack
- the cord into the wall - be sure to check the wall outlet with a lamp or something to make sure it's not an overall power problem/breaker, etc.

HP PHOTOSMART 475 WILL NOT SWITCH ON WHEN PLUGED IN

hmmm...ok..unplug from computer first

then with power switch/button depressed, AND power cable out of wall, plug it into the wall, hold button for 30 seconds..

if that's not ok, then make certain the light on your power input is good. We're assuming the power is good from outlet, right?
