Convergence Is there a way to reset convergence back to Factory Default settings. I have tried to reset it using the reset in the menu, but nothing happens. The cursor that is supposed to move the adjustment up/down/left or right is 3 squares off, meaning when I try to adjust it, it moves 3 squares to the left and not where the cursor is located. How can I reset everything back to normal. Note: this is on the Standard Side, not the HD side. Not sure I am explaning this right, but there must be a way to totally reset the convergence.

If you hit the reset button and it doesn't get it close, then you have either a cold / fractured solder joint or joints on the convergence IC or IC's. The only fix is to resolder the chip or chips and if that doesn't work, then replace them. But keep in mind that there should be a +21vdc and -21vdc on the chips respectively. If a fuse is open it can cause this type of symptom. So check all the little green pico fuses with ohm meter and go from there. Let me know how that all pans out for you and ....Good luck future technician. Jay Happy holidays.

Audio but only black screen for video on WS65807

First, the set has a hard reset but it will NOT affect convergence which is stored in a separate area of the set.

Model indicated has 3 hidden menus---all accessed with the Original remote and a 4 digit code.

At your own risk:

This is a V17 chassis that was used in 8 models.

It has 3 hidden tech menus: With set on:

Option menu is 8270 enter---The Option menu reset will return all settings to factory and also will clear any glitches out of the way--it as stated can cause Convergence not to be affected.

Circuit adjust menu: (stay out as one wrong move and fatal things can happen is : 8257 enter.

Convergence adjust menu: (better than customer and SAVES adjustments made in to the DCU or digital convergence unit in the set.

I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU TRY THE OPTION MENU FIRST, IF NEED DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS I CAN LOCATE THEM FOR STEP BY STEP OF THAT.

SEE IF IT CLEARS THE MAIN ISSUES UP FIRST---IF YOU TRIED TO ADJUST CONVERGENCE IT MAY NOW BE MESSED UP BUT UNLESS YOU GET THE SET BACK TO WORKING SOMEWHAT NORMAL NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.

keep in mind I do this here for free and have worked on hundreds of these Mitsubishi sets.

How do I reset my Mitsubishi WS-65908

Model number here has 3 hidden menus--adjustment (keep out of that one) and convergence, and OPTION menu.

In the Option menu with the Mitsubishi remote you can do a hard reset of entire set--sets everything back to factory except convergence adjustments.

This requires the Mitsubishi remote and a 4 digit number code.

I am willing to give that but first would like to know WHY you wish to do that as it will not cure all problems like dead set, convergence etc.

How to reset eeprom(service menu settings)

This is the reason I am careful about walking people into the tech menu on sets--one wrong move and poof!

If you by a miracle find the full service manual it would have the information needed (if set has this) for a hard reset---other wise you would have to try to with the manual reset every setting to factory one at a time...........

How to reset factory settings ws 65517

If you contact Mitsubishi the set has three hidden menus---convergence adjust, circuit adjust and OPTION MENU.

Each model uses a four digit code with menu and for example 4750 and in the Option menu is the option to do the hard reset for the set---

The wipes all labels (dvd etc) and puts set back to default on all factory settings.

You might find it if you GOOGLE THE MODEL NUMBER with option menu after it...........

Red distorted color near top of screen not having much luck with trying to converge the lines on the tv set form. already tried factory reset

Reset will not cure a convergence problem.

this model (ws-65711) uses a single convergence chip located on the middle circuit board (see photo).

If convergence is skewed and will not adjust in customer menu the chip needs to be replaced.

Good news: I have start to finish, step by step instructions for this repair in this set. They tell you everything you will need and exactly how to do the repair.

No two sets with convergence problems will look exactly the same but I will also attach a few photos of this kind of trouble.

If the photos or what I have told you told you something you did not know and you want the instructions (free) rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

How to reset convergence? on mitsubishi ws 55511, has a shadow colored blue or yellow

There is an option in the user menu on the tv. Using either the remote or control panel on the front of the tv, press MENU then select SETUP. After you choose SETUP go to the 3rd column with the 3 icons. Here you can adjust the red or blue color or reset the convergence back to factory default.

After a few years the set will begin to show increasing problems with the convergence settings. When you can no longer adjust either red or blue horizontally or vertically an IC replacement will be needed. Your set uses (1) SANYO stk393-110 and you want to make sure it's SANYO and not a knock off brand as those usually fail prematurely.

Rca d52w27d no convergence in the set up menu cant run the convergence

some rca models have the convergence as a seperate button on the front or side of unit. sometimes if unit has guide plus+, unit wont have that option. try on your tv factory remote, with tv on, push menu, 7, 1, go back, tv. that is the code to reset your computer in tv.

Convergence

Touch-up Convergence adjustments Enter the Digital Convergence Mode (DCM) by entering 0-6-2-5-9-7-(Status or Index) on the Remote control. The following menu will appear: Select an active channel or Aux Input. A signal must be applied to the set when performing convergence. If any Customer Adjustments need to be made, the Menu button can be used to toggle between the Customer Menu and DCM. The MPOSD ADJUST is used to center the Customer Convergence grid. A highlighted cross will appear along with the Convergence alignment grid. The highlighted cross should be centered onto the center of the Convergence grid. To perform a Touch Up Convergence, highlight SELECTION and press the right cursor button on the remote. The following menu will appear: Selections STORE, RESTORE FACTORY, and RESTORE DEFAULT are not shown after selecting SELECTION. Press the cursor down button on the Remote for these selections to appear. RESTORE FACTORY loads Convergence defaults from the Factory Loaded section of the Convergence Memory IC. RESTORE DEFAULT loads Convergence defaults from the sets software. To perform a Touch-up Convergence: 1. Enter the Convergence Mode and select RED TO GREEN or BLUE TO GREEN. Do not select GREEN (Green Geometry) without placing a Template over the screen. To perform Green Geometry, refer to the Complete in-depth Convergence. 2. Use the Cursor buttons on the Remote to Navigate from one adjustment point to another. Press the Status or Index button on the Remote to select ADJUST. Use the cursor buttons on the Remote to adjust the Red to Green or Blue to Green. Press the Status or Index button again to navigate to the next adjustment location. 3. After Convergence alignments are complete, press the Menu button on the Remote to return to the SELECTION menu. 4. Highlight the STORE selection and press the right cursor key on the Remote to save changes. 5. Use the GREEN TO RED or GREEN TO BLUE selections to perform convergence when the Green CRT has been replaced.
