Disk unkown error message

1. I hope you checked the user manual for your DVD player to determine if your problem is in the list of troubleshooting issues.

2. Check if the disk you put into the DVD player is compatible to play in your machine. Did you try to play a Blu-Ray disk in the DVD player? If so, trying to play a non-compatible disk will result in in the No Disk or Error message.

3. Make sure the compatible disk is inserted into the player tray with the readable side of the disk facing downward.

Use lens cleaner disk to run many times. It cleans the lens and also runs cd on the disk which eventually will get rid of moisture on the circuits and restore your dvd recorder on the LG unit.

U must copy NTSC to NTSC.PAL to PAL.Check ur DVD recorder/VCR combo menu set up regions auto, if it have it.Will play all regions DVD discs.

this item will not play store bought disks it is for recording and burning blank disks you need a normal dvd player

More than likely the DVD drive in your unit is bad.

The JVC DR-MV1S DVD Recorder / VCR Combo does not suppport DVD+R, only DVD-R, -RW etc.
At least mine only supports these formats, as when I first bought mine, I got some blank DVD's they were DVD+R.
I recorded a movie onto one on my PC, then tried playing it in the JVC unit... no go!
Instruction manual (available for D/load online) proved to me that I could not play +R disks!!

I also have this annoying problem - but I bought mine new on ebay and have zero after-sales support. I have tried all the hacks I cna find over the last 12 months and when I am finished, the messages all say 'congratulations, you're now region free'. But even the local DVDs don't work. Disc ejects itself with irritating message 'unknown disc'. Does anyone have this problem who has a SALES RECEIPT from an authorised LG dealer? If so, can you jump up and down with LG until they offer a solution? Thanks!
