Not printing red or pink inks

Both the pink diamond ink and red square in are full and yet all my pictures for the past few days have been very yellow and green. When I clean my print heads it prints a page and at the bottom I have a blue rectangle, a blank spot, yellow, blue, green and finally yellow. I have tried changing the color profiles and advanced settings. Nothing gives me even a hint of pink.

SOURCE: a pink line is on every page printed

This is a very common problem with this model printer, it is caused by toner on the scanner mirrors. You need to clean the scanner assembly unfortunately it isn't very easy to dissemble the printer to get to it.

SOURCE: Blank Ink not pumping to print head

Turn off the device after removing the printhead After removing the printhead, turn off the device, wait about 20 seconds, and turn it on again without the printhead installed. After it has restarted, reinsert the printhead.

it will go through this long routine of perhaps 20 min or so. after its compleate it should print great.

SOURCE: my hp deskjet 1280 will not print yellow

Hello, this is Harry from www.BusinessSpread.co.uk.
We had the exact same problem when printing, we used 3 different 78 colour ink cartages and they all said 100% full but did not work. We then had a look at the dates on the box and they were all expired so when buying ink from anywhere even PC world or Curry’s always look at the expiry date.
Today I went to PC world and purchased a new 78 ink which said expires July 2011 and it works perfectly fine.
Regards,

Step four: Clean the printhead If the preceding steps did not help, clean the printhead.
  1. Open the All-in-One Toolbox:
    1. Open HP Solution Center (click Start, click All Programs, click HP, and then click HP Solution Center).
    2. If you have more than one All-in-One installed, make sure to select the correct All-in-One tab in HP Solution Center.
    3. Click Settings.
    4. Click Print Settings.
    5. Click Printer Toolbox.
  2. On the Device Services tab, click Clean the Print Cartridges, and then follow the onscreen instructions. Three levels of cleaning are available.

My printer ink is full and it just printing in black and yellow

The ink leaves the ink-cartridge, and should flow through the ink-jets to be sprayed onto the paper.
If some of the ink-jets are clogged (blue, red) and some of the ink-jets are fine (black, yellow),
then you need to run a few "print-head-cleaning" cycles, to try to unclog those ink-jets.

When I Print the color Yellow, it's being printed as Pink.

I think you switched the ink stations. Try to switch the yellow and magenta. It also is a possibility that they are refilled with the wrong ink color. Place new ink cartridges and your problem is solved! (It can be that a few prints still show some pink color, because there is a residu of magenta in the yellow printhead)

My printer prints pink. new ink?

What particular color are you trying to print from but showing a pink output? Chances are, you may be running out of other inks such as yellow or cyan, and thus the printer uses the magenta since it is still available. Check your ink cartridges if they are full. If not anymore, replace them.

Alarm flashes ink emptyhas ink! color was printing only yellow/green now prints only red/pink!

any chance it has dried out? run the test / head cleaning / did you reset the cartridge when you replaced it? generally if one or two colors work - the problem is the ink cartridge or the head for the colors not working. Did you remove the "tape" on the new cartridge?

Prints all yellow, with some blue and black, no brown

the problem is very simple the magenta ink the cartridge is over or the head is been blocked from where the magenta ink comes out,
because red colour requires ---yellow plus magenta(pink)----to make it red.and ----dark yellow plus magenta(pink) -------- for brown colour.

Serious Color Printer Issues

This is to do with the way in which the cyan, magenta, yellow and black ink is mixed to produce all the colours e.g. to print "red" requires both magenta and yellow ink. Thus, if the magenta ink is not flowing for some reason, for example, the "red" will print out as yellow. So, make sure all your cartridges and nozzles are working properly.

Dissapearing yellow

I run about 100+ canon printers from s800 up to the new ip4500.
I have met and solved almost every problem I find described on the web. Your problem with the disappearing yellow ink can be only one thing. The ink cartridge has not been sealed after you injected the ink. If there is even the smallest avenue for air to get into the cartridge it will allow the ink to flow very rapidly back out of the cartridge and into the waste ink pads in the bottom of the printer. You won't be able to see a puddle of ink under the printer until much later when you have done many cleanings or installed many leaky cartridges.
