Bad printer ???

Hi, I have a HP Deskjet 882C. It's printing weird symbols and letters, it also stops in the middle of printing (when it prints at all). I've tried to reload the printer and drivers. I think the ports are fine (I'm no expert, but I followed the steps to check them and nothing jumped out at at me). It has black ink, but I'm not sure how much color ink it has left b/c I couldn't afford both. I was thinking of buying the color ink so both can be refilled, or maybe a new printer cable? Any other suggestions??

I accidentially told my HP Deskjet 882C printer to print a large document. How do I cancell comand

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. The easiest way is to switch off the printer. However, basically you can double click on printer icon showing in the bottom of the tool bar of the window and select cancel all printing documents. Then all the printing documents will be stopped printing by the Printer.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Check the End of warranty date on both the cartridges.
Deskjet 882c printer does not support reserve mode printing.
Means, even if only cartridge is defective or expired the printer will not print with other cartridge which is fine.

Both the cartridges should in inwarranty and fine.
Shake the cartridges well
With the color and black cartridges touch a clean, slightly damp cloth (squeeze out excess water),
to the printer nozzle area on the print cartridge, to see if you can make the ink flow freely.

Be careful not to touch the nozzle area (with holes on it) on the cartridges.
Wipe the copper-colored electrical contacts with a clean distilled water or clean tap water and then with a dry lint-free cotton cloth
Also using a new swab, clean the electrical contacts inside the printer, in the carriage.

Install both the cartirdges in the printer, disconnect the printer from the computer and try to print a self test and diagnostic page

Running a sample page
Turn the printer on.
Press and hold the RESUME button until the printer starts printing.
Release the RESUME button.

Running a diagnostic test
Turn the printer on.
Press and hold the POWER button.
Press the RESUME button four times.
Release the POWER button.
