SOURCE: Screen cutting out

Hello,

The picture board on your monitor is bad, since it goes off after few seconds and the power led or button is on, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to complicate issues.

Take care.

SOURCE: LG L1730S 17" LCD Monitor

Hi Anand,

You need to check your power options settings and modify it , so that your monitor does not turn off automatically.

If you are using windows xp , go in control panel and then there would be an icon for power options , double click the power options and then you would find settings which read turn off monitor , turn off hard disk etc... select the turn off monitor to never mode or as per your convenience and you would have your problem solved.

Hope this helps.

Get black in every 10 minute

this is a bad sign that your back light or inverter is going bad in the display, when it goes black take a flash light and see if you can see the lcd displaying if so replace the backlight and or inverter and this will solve this issue and put you closer to a fixed monitor.

Your power settings may need to be changed, it appears to be going into sleep mode or power saving mode.

If you are using Vista, Click Start> Control Panel > Power Options > "choose when to turn off display" (in the left hand pane) and check that it says at least 10 minutes. Click apply and then ok.

Alternatively, right click on your desktop, select "personalise" and click on screen saver - then select "change power settings" to bring you to the same thing.

If you have xp, right click on your desktop and select "properties" then "screensaver| > "Power" and change it to turn off the monitor after 10 minutes. Click apply then ok.

If your monitor is going to sleep, either press a key or wiggle the mouse to wake it up.

Hope that helps.

The monitor screen goes dark about 10 minutes

Please verify the power option setting present in 'control pannel' option once. If you have selected to turn off the power supply after 10mins, (once the system is in idle state) then the SMPS will stop supplying power.

thanks.

Power light keeps flashing, unable to power up screen. Tried unplugging power source and turning off hard drive. Neither of or combo of worked.

Turn off the power to your monitor. Unplug from the back of your computer and for the outlet wait 10 to 20 minutes and reconnect and try to cut it on.

PC or monitor, signal problems

your monitor is telling you it's on it's last legs..either that or your compaq has a bad video section. either is more vital than a video cable being loose.
