I have had my television for about 2 years. I bought it from Rent a center in Moscow Idaho. I had told them to put the warranty into my payment and of course very conveniently they did not. So anyway it started distorting and now wont turn on at all can you please tell me what you think might need to be done?
After some quick checks, it looks like, unfortunately, you have a lemon of a TV. First some basic info. All late model CRT TV's use the high voltage power supply to create all of the voltages it needs to operate. Which saves on parts & costs. The high voltage transformer used in these power supply's can be susceptible to failures & apparently your model is more prone to this than most.
When you said the picture started to distort, what exactly did it look like? If the transformer has not failed then maybe 1 of the power supply filter capacitors is shorted & causing the power supply to shut down. (a safety feature) A local TV repair shop should be able to determine the problem within an hour.
1 thing to try before calling someone, is to see whether the set needs a software reset. Unplug the TV for about 4 hours & then plug it back in. If the problem still exists, then you will need to contact the repair shop.

When it would distort it would bend on the right side of the screen if you were facing the tv. It would also take forever to get the tv to turn on . It would bend in and turn off. Thanks for helping me!
