The shipping bolts should always be in place when transporting the machine but i can also depend on how far you are traveling and the road conditions.you can order them from a local parts store

Remove pedestal from washer

Those washers are heavy! They have weights in them to prevent moving when spinning. Some use bolts through the bottom of the pedestal up through the washer and others use bolts down through the washer into the pedestal. Remove the bolts and lift the washer off the pedestal. You might need to get levelling bolts for the washer or check to see if the bolts are on the bottom of the pedestal. Make sure you get help to move the machine.

Do i need to put in shipping bolts to move my washer 600 miles and if so where do they go and what size bolt do i need?

The shipping bolts protect the washer tub from getting bounced around when the washer is moved. The shipping kit should have come with your washer when you purchased it. If you have misplaced it, you can find it here http://www.repairclinic.com/SSPartDetail.aspx?s=t-GLTF2940ES-%3d%3di1170681&PartID=1170681
Hope this helps you.

Trying to move washer but really heavy is water still in washer somehow?

there's a big lump of metal or concrete in the bottom of a washer to stop it vibrating when on the spin cycle, there should be some bolts that came with it don't move it far without putting these back in to stop it moving inside and causing damage.

Does a Maytag Neptune MAH6500WH have retaining bolts or pins that need to be installed before it can be moved?

If you are moving the washer for a long distance move, it is recommended that the shipping bolts be reinstalled to help prevent damage to the drum and suspension mechanism. This would be especially important if you're using a professional moving company, as they won't be able to move/load/unload it without problems.

If the move is relatively short and won't experience alot of aggressive movement, you can likely move the washer without chance of damage - provided you are careful and don't bounce the washer around.

Here's the info from the Maytag website, regarding moving front loading appliances:

If you are moving to a new home and plan to take your front-load washer and dryer pair with you, please call 800-688-9900, and speak to a fabric care expert. Our expert can recommend a Maytag-authorized servicer who will reinstall new shipping bolts to your washer.

New shipping bolts must be reinstalled to avoid internal suspension and structural damage to your washer during transport.

OK, so get your model number handy and give them a call, (you're missing some digits/alphas) you can get an online copy of your owner's manual that will show you the part numbers for the shipping bolts, if you've misplaced them, or give a call to the toll free number for Maytag, and they'll provide you with the part numbers needed so you can order them yourself and likely save some money versus having a service tech some out and do it for you/

Lost or not retained shipping bolts

Just looked at mine (we had to order them before the military would move ours). They are two different sizes, have a long plastic washer (lengthwise), and are - believe it or not - like a lag bolt on the end! A hybrid mess meant to force us to order them, if you ask me. Not sure you should try rigging it, best if you order them, you'll see what I mean when you get them. Sorry, we were in the same boat too. Wish I never bought this LG, but that's for another post.

Need bolts to stabilize washer for move

Dont know if you can purchase these. First people to try are the manufactures. Otherwise, unscrew the two screws at the rear top of machine and pull backwards to remove top. Then pack some towells or rugs around the drum then replace top. Don,t forget to remove rugs at new home.!! Good luck on your move.

Vibration

Does it have runner pads on the leveling feet on the washer resting on the pedestal?
If so, and it still moves all over, you will have to fasten the washer to the pedestal with bolts and nuts. I had a GE that did the same thing. I finally laid them on their side, drilled out the holes to fit bolts and washers I bought from Home Depot. They really don't make that clear, do they?
