You could buy a new compressor/motor and pay for a service call to install it. You would get maybe a 1 year warranty on the repair.

You might as well buy another refrigerator. The new refrigerator will have a 3 or 5 year warranty and cost only a little bit more. Or, you could buy a second hand refrigerator from a thrift store or off Craigslist or out of the classifieds section of your local newspaper. This is by far the cheapest option. Even if the new(er) refrigerator only lasts 1 year, you will only have $100 in it. That's still less than the original repair bill.

Andis t outliner is making a loud noise someone help please?

This unit will not work correctly in the UK as it has a magnetic motor. No matter how you try to tune it it will be very loud and eventually the motor will burn out.

Loud rattling noise

Most likely, the drive unit needs replacing. You will find a drive unit at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

http://shaveroutlet.com/braun-8000-series-activator-motor-drive-unit-p-36.html

To replace you will first need to gently pry off the 'cap' on the bottom that surrounds the hole where the cord plugs in. Once removed the side grips will pull off revealing 4 screws. Remove screws to take off back cover and access insides. Inner parts simply lift out

Loud fan rattling in convection mode

On the repairs I have done, it has always been a bad fan motor bearing. The only way you are going to be able to tell is to tear it down to the fan assembly and feel if the fan blade or blower is loose. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

The fan makes a very loud noise

the fan blade may be loose on the motor shaft there is a set screw on the blade center you can tighten (it needs to be very snug)

Loud Grating sound like gears stripping

There are a couple of possible problems that may be associated with your dishwasher.

1) Something got past the screen and is lodged in the pump.

2) I just fixed one that had the fan blade fall off of the motor and was rattling around on the shaft. This style motor has been updated and no longer has this problem.

You may need to replace the motor/pump assembly if it is damaged.

Motor makes loud rattling noise during rinse cycle

could be the coupler and the only way to truely check it is to take the pump, then the motor off. But it seems strange to me that you say it works fine. Is it spinning? usually when the coupler breaks it sounds horrible and usually will not spin but it will drain.I would check the coupler again.

I have a kenmore 70 series washer, the machine won't spin. I hear the clutch but it's not engaging. The pump to remove the water seems to be operating but the tub just won't spin and makes a loud noise.

The loud noise (sounds like rattling or grinding) is the motor coupler. It's between the motor and the transmission. This part takes the place of the belt, and costs about $20.00.

Good luck!
