Is the drain hole at the back of the fridge (Inside) clogged up with ice or gunk.... get rid of all the ice built up around the drain and on the bottom drawer

  • MtgeMan Feb 22, 2011

I had the same problem. What happened is that the evaporating coil in the freezer was all iced up so air flow from the fan was limited. Turns out a small computer board handling the defrost cycle was bad. I would take off the back panel from inside the freezer and see if it's all iced up. The repairman told me that with the air flow restricted limited cool air was was circulating on the top of refridgerator and all of the cold air from the freezer was just staying on the bottom. Sorry but don't know the name of the part he replaced but he had one in his truck so I presume it's a common issue.

Fridge is freezing everything

Check the top of the inside of the fridge. There is usually a flap door mechanism that sometimes falls off or sticks. This regulates the temp in the fridge.

MODEL # 59673504203 DRAWER IS ALWAYS FREEZING EVERYTHING IN IT. NOW NO ICE IS BEING PRODUCED

I had the same problem. I pulled the drawer all the way out. In the back is a vent flap. Ice had formed on it keeping it open. I chipped off the ice so the flap can move. This stopped the freezing veggies.
My ice maker stopped working. It was suggested I change the water filter as it may be clogged preventing water moving to the ice maker. As I am getting a new refrigerator I all not be buying a new filter.

My refrigerator produce drawers are freezing all of my produce. I have adjusted to low to high humidity on the drawers and it doesn't make a difference. What is wrong?

Make sure the fan in the freezer is running to circulate the air through the fridge. The cold air will settle to the bottom if it's not. Make sure the vents from the freezer to the fridge are open. There's one at the top and bottom.
Make sure the dampers to the vents open and close when you adjust the temp.

If the fan beind the rear cover inside the freezer isn't running it can cause circulation problems one of which is freezing in the drawers. The fan may not run when the door is open so hold the door switch down. It should be running when the compressor is running.

Produce freezing

I had the same problem when one of my kids changed the setting of the chef's pantry (full-width drawer) to higher setting and everything started freezing. The setting should be at "lowest setting". Give it a try. deborah.
