Firstly let me just say that all audio visual units such as this, should come with lens cleaning utilities, as more often then not the laser eye is simply dirty.
- I presume this is the case with more then one game and if this is the case, please read on. ( not simply one damaged CD / DVD.
- There is a product for cleaning the laser eye simply called a DVD or CD lens cleaner.
- I should imagine you could simply run the lens cleaner and this would more then likely fix your problem.
- Go to a store that sells DVD's and CD's or games and ask them about a "lens cleaner" for your ps3.
- Read over the instructions - should give you step by step, and this is reasonably important to do it correctly, so is best you read the instructions.
- Allow suitable time to dry ( 5-10 minutes ) as directed by the manual ( some of these are on the CD and can be heard by simply playing the CD or DVD in another player.
- Your games should now work fine, and knowing that you only just got it for xmas, you should still be able to make a warranty claim if the problem persists.
- There isn't much else you can do to fix this yourself, but a lens cleaner is certainly worth a shot.
- Lens Cleaners usually retail for anywhere from $5 - $35 for a good quality one, the end result is usually the same, so don't spend all your pocket money on something you could have gotten less expensively.
my playstation 3 wil maybe read a game for about 5 minutes then freeze up, but there is no rblem with it when i pay dvd's
