Comments: I bought my printer( epson sx415) 2 weeks ago. It is my 3rd epson printer and I have always been happy with them. However I have the following problem. The first time I used it and inserted the ink cartridges the printing showed gaps like when the heads need cleaning. I had to clean them several times before there were no gaps and by this time the cartridges were half empty. I printed several a4 sheets using Epson photo paper and the ink ran out. I put this down to it being a new machine and that it said the cartridges supplied with the printer were not full. I then went out to buy more ink and the same thing happened today. I inserted the new cartridges and had to clean lots of times before it would print and by this time the cartridges were half empty again. I have made 2 calenders using Epson photo paper and the ink has run out again. Also I thought the benefit of having 4 cartridges was that you could replace as needed but as soon as I replaced the cyan as indicated, it then said the magenta was empty too and so on until I had to replace all 4. As I said I have never had this problem before. My R200 lasted for years and the inks also lasted for ages. Another lot of inks and it will have cost me the same price as the printer so obviously I am very unhappy. I would welcome advice quickly. Thank you Natalie Cann

The ink in the cartridges was partly dried up so everything that has happened was normal. Refill the cartridges  ( ink easily found on eBay ; additional help http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/60 ) or buy compatibles ones   http://www.internet-ink.co.uk/epson-sx415-ink-cartridges/

Woo really this is crazy. does the paper it prints on seem soaked in ink. i mean is it wet and all blurry and smudgy as if its using a tone of ink on the paper, have you tried lowering the settings, really there is no excuse for it using this much ink,. if i was you i would strait away bring it back to the shop you got it from with the recipts for all the ink and ask for another printer strait away and the money for the ink. what yeah think of that for an idea. really there is problem with printer its not sealing the cartage when not in use or its shooting to much ink at once. i think the main problem is its not sealing the cartage when not been used and its leaking the ink this is why u must clean each time because the inks drinking on the dripping cartgaes. hope this helps in some way.

I have had my Epson R1900 since last July, and it has worked just fine for me up until a couple of months ago when it began printing with a very noticeable blue-green tint. I always use Epson 87 inks, and...

using your printer once a week makes your printer clog even if you use original cartridges i prefer using it once a day, if you dont have anything to print, just turn on your printer and it will automatically head cleaned its head

If you've only bought it 2 months ago it will still be under warranty.

I am getting white streaks in my printouts

It's probably like my Epson...the heads are eithr dirty or misaligned...you should have a computer diagnostic program on CD for your printer if you bought it new...if not, then you can get it from HP or possibly their webpage. The program should include an easy-to-follow alignment procedure done by a USB connection from your comp to your printer, or do the normal head cleading procedure at a service center.

Espon 1400 prob. with vista close the cd/dvd guide. It is CLOSED!

I am having the same problem. I am on my 3rd printer from Epson in 2 weeks.
The solution may be to buy another brand, but I have more in Epson ink & paper than I have in the printer.
