There is a bolt in the middle of the bracket that holds the wheel that you turn. When you tighten the bolt it pushes on the the wheel bracket and it goes down, bringing the fridge up. Loosen, it goes up bringing the fridge down.

How do you lock the wheels on a maytag refrigerator

Hello Joyce;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service technician.

You did not give me a model number so I am not sure what you have.
Remove the front bottom grill. Some grills have clips 1 on each end that you just pull to remove. Others have a screw on each end to remove.
1.) Some units have a locking bar on the outside of the front wheels. Turn this bar to lock.
2.) Some units have bars on each side with square heads. There are 2 bars on each side. One for the front wheel and one for the back wheel. You need a box wrench or ratchet. Clockwise raises the wheels and counter clockwise lowers the wheels.
3.) All units have leveling screws in the front. Turn the jack screws clockwise to bring them down. If you did not receive a special wrench with the unit, you will need either a pair of channel locks or another tool when the jack screws touch the floor. Turn the jack bolts 1/2 to 1 full turn. This will secure the refrigerator in your desired position.
I do not recommend 3.) unless your floor is pitched and your refrigerator tends to move. The leveling jack may leave impressions in you kitchen floor. Generally, just the heavy physical weight of your unit keeps the refrigerator in place.

I have a maytag plus side by side refridg.. About two weeks ago the freezer started warming up and now is not any colder than the refridgerator side. Also the refridgerator side is now warming up. It...

Airflow around the condenser grill is very important. So you should take off the front grill and vacuum out that area the best you can.

Since this is a gradual warming trend you might have ice build up on your evaporator coils (usually means that defrost circuit malfuntioning). If you remove the food, shelves and back panel of your freezer section, you will be able to see if there is ice build up. If there is, unplug the unit and then use a hair dryer to melt the ice. Make sure you are ready to deal with the ice melt with either spongs and bucket or a wet/dry vac.

I have a Maytag Dependable Care Quiet Plus II Heavy Duty dryer. The vent fan is loose on the shaft. What needs to be done to fix it?

Must replace it cause there is a flat side on the shaft and the blower wheel matches up to it and rounded out the plastic. Take off front panel and take out the screws around the wheel to get the metal plate out of the way then it either screws on or has a snap ring and a clamp to take off now wiggle the wheel to slide it off. Install new wheel and put back together.

The refigerator is a little wobbly

Hi Wayne,

I believe I can describe the procedure.

1. Remove the front lower grille.

2. Look on the left and right front lower part behind that grille and you will see one of two things. Leveling legs or you will see bolt heads right over a wheel. These bolt heads are adjusting bolts. I ll go over the bolts because legs are fairly easy.

3. Choose the wheel in the front that is going to support your unit the best and turn the bolt just above it. It will be okay you can turn it with no problems you will see the wheel go up and down. Thats it.

4. I have posted a tip just below for you to read about leveling and doors. If you follow that you will be fine no laying the refrigerator down.

And please if you need further help all you have to do is ask.

A tip about doors.

I need to level the refrigerator. The back needs

Hello Monty, If you can roll the fridge out, you'll likely see the adjustment screws for the rear wheels, (if equipped). If the rear wheels are fixed, as most are, you can put a couple of wooden shims down on the floor where the wheels will be and roll the fridge back into place and then make the leveling adjustments from the front wheels.

If the amount of height adjustment is greater than a half an inch, you can use a solid piece of plywood the width of the fridge and about 4-6" wide and place that at the back. Roll the fridge in until it hits the plywood and tilt the fridge forward about 2 inches and push it back until the rear wheels are on the plywood. You can then, again, level the fridge using the front wheel/leg levelers.

I've found that it's easier to get a good idea of just how much out of level the space is where the fridge is being placed. Then you can make the changes using the best materials for the situation. Shims are fine for small adjustments, while the full width plywood is more consistent and easier to adjust, as the fridge will likley get moved out every 6 months or so, for cleaning of the coils and behind the fridge.

Remember that ideally, you want the front of the fridge just slightly higher than the back, so the doors will close by themselves, when opened almost 90 degrees and released by hand. Gravity should then take over and automatically close the doors, ensuring a good seal to keep the fridge closed and running properly.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Open door and whole unit moves, it dosen't come with back legs, or does it??

Hello,

No most don't have rear legs. However, they usually will have front legs that screw down past the wheels/rollers to prevent it from sliding around under normal conditions.

You may have to remove the grill in the front (if present on your model) to adjust the wheels/rollers "up" out of the way while lowering the legs to level it, and they should also act as "brakes" to a degree if the floor/surface is relatively level.

Hope that helps,

Good Luck

Maytag Neptune MAH3000AWA seems to be rubbing

I suspect that you have a leveling bracket come loose. Many of the Maytag washers also use a large concrete block fastened underneath to help balance things. Look to see if yours is this type. If so then the steel rod holding thinge that holds it in place may have come loose...should be easy to put back correctly but will require some muscle. Most of the Sears Kenmore units have springs that can come loos from their connections and require re hooking but I do not think you have this type of unit for a Maytag. Hope this helped.

How to replace the rear wheel on Amana 22.1 cu.ft refrigerator

Remove anything in the unit that could spill or tip over. Raise the front leveling legs to allow unit to roll. Slide the unit out from the wall. Place something between the refrigerator and the wall to protect surfaces. ***Make sure you have someone to assist with this next part. Tilt unit to the side and lean it against the wall to raise up the roller to be replaced. There is a metal base that supports the rollers, compressor, condenser and fan motor. You will see a heavy duty metal pin that goes through the roller. Bend down the metal tab in the base to remove roller pin. Replace the roller, reinstall bin and bend the tab back up. Carefully set the refrigerator back down on all four rollers. push back in place and screw down the front leveling legs.

Maytag front loading gas dryer

Usually when it sounds like that it is because the one of the wheels involved with movment (support rollers or tensioner pulley) has started to wear down or has build up in side of it. I don't know what specific model you have, but this is a tear down and replace for these parts on a generic maytag frontload dryer. (elec or gas makes no difference in this procedure).First unplug the unit. Remove the front panel by removing the 4 phillips
screws just inside the door (on the hinges and just opposite). Next remove the greenish/ brown 5/16 screws that hold the front panel in. There are wires still connected (door switch and moisture sensor) but if you swing it to the side, you can leave them connected and still procede. Next, you have to reach underneath (very difficult to see this so you will have to do it by feel) There is a belt that wraps around the drum. On the underneath side of the drum as you follow the belt it wraps
around the motor pulley (small wheel) and the tensioner pulley (bigger wheel just to the right). Now with one hand, move the larger pulley towards the msaller one. This will give you slack and you can take the belt off both pulleys. Now pull the drum
forward. There you have the inner workings left. Now, there are 3 wheels. 2 black and 1 white. Your squeeking noise will be coming from the one that doesn't turn freely. You can get the replacement wheel from your local appliance parts store or on line from the manufatrues web site. However, if you do have to wait for the part, take the wheel off the shaft and wipe off the inside race of the wheel and the shaft for temporarily relife and useage.
