Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
Console will not play games or DVD's but still plays music that is saved to the hard drive. Problem started after attempting to play the new Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 2. The game updated the system to 3.01 but the game froze up and would not play. Ever since the system will not play games or DVD's.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I had the same problem. Dont you alcohol though as it can remove the protective film on the lenz. go to a chemist and just buy some standard lenz cleaner, apply it to a cotton tip and clean the lense in small circular motions. Then dry the lenz with a clean dry cotton tip in small circular motion.

IF YOU ARE UNDER WARRANTY SEND IT IN!Try "restoring file system" first. If that doesn't work listen to the drive very close where you insert a disk. If it sound like it is spinning then you probably have a dirty Bluray lens and alcohol and Q-tip fixes it just fine. If you here a "studder" noise (usually in 2 intervals) then you need a new Bluray lens. This tells you which one you need.
Your model number is on the back left on teh console and starts with CECH.
