I lost my original windows xp disk my computer was wiped clean. I need to purchase a new disk to get computer operational

The hardware specs for this machine will not handle anything later than Windows XP. I would recommend doing a clean installation of XP or even might try a free operating system like Ubuntu (http://www.ubuntu.com/). Just have to download the iso and get it burned to a disc. All in all, I would recommend a machine with better specs to provide an all around better working computer. Hope this helps.

You'll have to obtain new OS software. The reset disks assume that the original OS is still installed, and help to restore it to factory defaults (i.e. exactly how it was when you purchased it.) If you are looking for Windows, you'll have to visit a local store to purchase a new copy (generally office supply stores, or PC stores carry them.) Alternatively you can find other free Operating systems online using another computer, and create an install disk to start over. (Ubuntu is very popular and easy to use.)

Doing a wipe like that erases EVERYTHING so the computer has nothing to load. The only fix is to get new OS installation software and re-install.

writing either to DVD-recordable disks, to an USB memory-stick, or to an external disk-drive.

Then, reinstall Windows, "wiping" everything from your disk-drive.
Run "Windows Update" (repeatedly) to get all the latest security-updates.
Reinstall anti-virus software.
Reload your files.
Reinstall the purchased software.
Reinstall the free software (Adobe Reader? WinAmp?).

Start the computer.
Select the "old" system, and then repeatedly press F8,
until you see the Windows Start-Up Menu (white text over a black background).
Choose Start In Safe Mode with Command Prompt.
At the command-prompt, enter 'FORMAT C:' to "wipe" 100% of the files from the disk-drive.
When it completes, turn the computer off.
Turn the computer on, and boot from those original "System Restore" CDs.
It will load Windows onto your now-empty disk-drive.

Most of the time manufacturers put preloaded software and the OS on different disks, do you have multiple cd's that came with it?

Have you tried wiping the hard drive before with success? Did it install some of the preloaded softwares, or none of them?

You need to find a copy of xp that is not through an OEM (original Equipment Manufacture). Your original copy of xp was linked to the motherboard's BIOS it was purchased with. It is called tattoing; the link below describes the process. Also, make check the bios to see if it has the correct serial number in it. The company you brought the computer from can transfer the serial number to the new motherboard and you could use the old xp copy you have as well.

If the I386 folder or Winnt32.exe/Winnt.exe application does not exist, or you cannot find it, use the Search feature to help you (Start>Search). If it does not yield any results, a copy of the CD may not have been stored on your hard drive. Contact your manufacturer for more support.

Which operation system u have ??? microsoft having all the start up disk creation utility over the internet... if u are using the Windows XP u can repair the XP it restart with original setting...
