We have a combination TV/DVD player made by Bush. Model number DVD1401TV which has suddenly gone completely dead. Can't do anything with it at all. Won't turn on, doesn't make any noise. I have checked the fuse in the plug etc but still no good. Any ideas pls?

HI,
If it totally dead, the fuse is usually the culprit. Just get replaced.

Bush TV, model number RF6685VPL/A - Colours are wrong!

It seems that it is a degaussing problem. TV sets have a degaussing coil that when the TV is turned on , it automatically demagnetizes the screen. Never place any speakers or anything magnetic near or on top of your set. if you see swirls of color and like you say, wierd colors, it is that the screen is magnetized. Turn it on and off with the switch. Not the remote control. The degaussing coil only works by manually turn the switch on and off.

How can I get Freeview Channels?

I have a Bush 6690D and I can confirm that it does have a built-in digital decoder for terrestrial signals (Freeview).

Have you checked whether ***********'s TV is set to digital mode ? The "Mode" button on the remote cycles between analog, digital and AV inputs.

Wrong disc on screen

If you DVD player is damaged, and u have external AUDIO\VIDEO inputs.Buy a $59.00 scan DVD player & save yourself a $100 repair bill.
The DVD heads coud be internittan { sometimes it works & sometimes i don't } U could have issues with the country codes that tell your DVD where the DVD CD was made at or where is was recorded.
