There are a few things that can cause you to lose wireless connection with your wireless router.
1. Weak signal strength, check the signal strength on your wireless card. If it is weak move the wireless router away from walls and if possible move the wireless router higher up.
2. Have you secured your wireless router from people near your from unauthorized access? Ie. change the default password, setup encryption use WAP2 or WAP, change the default SSID, and turn off SSID broadcast, and for added protection, enable MAC address filtering which allows only the MAC address/es of your wireless card/s to connect to your wireless router.
3. You could be getting interference from electrical sources such as air conditioners, ard welders, washing machines etc. If so the power supply to the wireless routers and computers etc should be connected to a surge protection power board, better still connect your computer equipment to an UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) .
4. Check the channels of the wireless routers and access points in your area and and change the broadcast channel on your wireless router to an unused channel or one that has the weakest signal strength. This will minimize the interference with your wireless router from the wireless routers and access points in your area

Are wired Ethernet ports dead if yes, the power pack is dead..
are he LEDs on the router dead?
lost the wifi password.
antennas on the router fell off or lost..
no router maker name, like Linksys
no model name.
nor how it is connected to your modem (use WLAN to modem)
PLUG ANY pc WIRED DIRECT TO THE MODEM WORK no router at all ? yes, good, no call your ISP it is there modem not yours..

DCM425 is connected via earthlink dot net cable. Cable modem and connection is provided by time warner cable. Location of equipment is in Greensboro, North Carolina (336 area code). Have Linksys SPA2102...

Just you to your sister, and nobody else? All the time? Complain to Earthlink. They will probably give you an excuse, like "that happens from time to time". Real answer: cheap internet connections and software that drops out.

We have our own VoIP box that cost $50 (ObiTalk), pay $60 a year to PhonePower (one of many), and have had rock steady connections. We get free Canada calls, and a half hour of free overseas every month. If you pay more than $5 a month rethink your provider.

Cant get internet on both computers using router

When did the router stop working?

Have you tried a new cable between the router and the modem?

Since the status light is off on the router, that tells me that there is no communication between the router and modem. Is it possible that the router was reset by accident? Resetting it will put all settings to default. If it has been reset then you need to sign on to the router to setup the communication again to your modem. Typically this is done via the IP address.

I can walk you through those steps if that is the case. Try supplying a different cable though between the router and modem. Power off both of them, power on the modem and then power on the router....then try to connect to the Internet.

I lost my belkin install cd

hello!

-- who is your internet service provider
-- what is the operating system of your computer?
-- is this working fine before or is this a brand new router

you may try this and see if this help solve your problem. make sure your computer is directly connected to the router

Step 1: Shutdown the computer.
Step 2: reset the router while power on then Unplug the router’s power cable.
Step 3: Unplug the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for 30 seconds.
Step 4: Plug in the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for its lights to appear stable.
Step 5: Plug in the router's power cable once the modem’s lights appear stable.
Step 6: Power on the computer on and configure the router settings
Step 7: test the Internet connection.

if this still didnot work, upgrade the firmware of your router

note:

configuring the router settings will depends who is your provider. if your isp is dsl you need to configure your ISP username and password on the router. if your router is a cable no need to change any settings on the router. it should automatically work

if you are still having trouble configuring your device, call supportrix and use supportcall as your promo code for 1 free technical support.

Automaticly restarting, shooting down

first try a reset in your router settings, by typing 192.168.0.1 in your web browser, and you also may have to try a firmware update, but you need to find the version of your router underneath, so refer to this page and see if you have the current firmware:- http://support.dlink.com/products/revision.asp Please be aware that any firmware upgrades need to be done with the rj45 cable and not wirelessly Otherwise, if it's rebooting it could be the W32.Blaster Worm, many other variations of this worm have been found. Some of them are W32/Lovsan.worm and W32/Nachi.worm. These worms create a lot of ICMP traffic which may overload the router to eventually prevent it from communicating. Whether it´s the CPU or another component of the router that causes the failure, the problem can only be solved through the removal of this virus. There´s a tool provided by McAfee called Stinger. This tool will detect and remove the viruses that cause these problems. Please take a minute to read about this tools and it´s usage. You will need to run this tool on every single computer. the tool can be found here:- http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/
