There are two little black components towards the left front of the circuit board as seen from the rear of the set with the brown cover removed. They are labeled F850 and F851. They are actually 5 amp fuses. Both went open at the same time so I jumpered them with two seperate jumpers and it worked the next time I plugged it in and turned it on. Be sure to remove power to the set before sticking your hands in here. The inside of the TV says they are Type SSTR by SOC Corp. Now I have to figure out what to replace them with....

Unplug TV for 5+ minutes then plug back in ... might work but this usually is caused by some other internal problem that may require service.

What's your problem? won't turn on..... yellow/orange light continually flashes three times...

Toshiba Regza 37in - 37HL17
TV will not turn on - Yellow power ind. Light blinks three times...
Fixed with a firmware update (hard to believe, but true). Search Google for a file named: 2007SEN069.zip (don't worry if the page you find it on doesn't mention the 37HL17 - it worked fine). Unzip the file, and copy the 3 folders and 3 files to the root of a small SD card. The SD card MUST be 2GB or less in size (I used a 1GB card), and it MUST be formatted with FAT-16 (not FAT-32). Mine was pre-formatted as FAT (FAT-16). The SD port is on the back of the TV behind a cover plate near the power cable. You do NOT need to remove the back cover of the TV, just the small cover plate (1 screw). UNPLUG the TV; remove the cover plate; insert the SD card (prepped as explained above); Plug in the TV; Watch the yellow lights blink, then turn blue, then go dark; UNPLUG the TV; remove the SD Card and replace the cover; Plug in the TV; Yellow lights will blink a few times (this is normal); when blinking stops, turn on the TV and you should be good to go. :-)
Pictures attached are from a Toshiba software upgrade bulletin I found online.

Green timer light won't stop flashing on mitsubishi ws 73711.

the green light blinking is normal if set has been unplugged--when set is plugged back it should blink for about 70 seconds and then go out--then you can try to turn it on---it is the DM unit inside the set booting up.

If the light just blinks and never stops you have likely bad caps in the DM unit---there are kits available for that.

The other possible reason is that so called reset switch may be bad--fairly easy way to find that out and it is more common than you would think, let me know if you have questions.

I have a Hitachi 53uwx10ba power light flashes and tv won't turn on

It is rare in this set but it indicates a short somewhere that is pulling voltage inside the set down---not a do it yourself repair unless you are a Technician with some basic equipment and a schematic diagram.

Have someone look at it from a repair shop or ?

Panasonic tv powerlight blinking,tv turning off and then back on, now it won't turn on at all, blinking green light goes red and it shuts off completely

My TV surname off after 5-15 minutes of use. The red light in the front blinks once every 3 seconds continuously. If I hold the power button down on the tv, it will turn on and do the same thing.

WD-65734 Mitsubishi TV won't turn on. System reset

Are there any lights lit on the front of the TV? Have you checked for a bad lamp? When you reset the TV the timer/power light should flash on and off rapidly for 60-70 sseconds. Does that happen?

JVC TV has flashing red light in front. TV won't turn on when red light starts flashing. After unplugging tv for a while, TV sometimes turns on but screen is shaking violently. Any flashing lights...

sometimes a leaky filter capacitor in the power supply primary section could caused this problem,or a loose solder connection in the power supply section

I have a Mitsubishi WD-62525 HDTV that suddenly wont turn on. Just has a green blinking light when you hit the power button. Any ideas?

I found this on another website, most likely it is your power supply capacitors.
  1. Press the "reset" button and hold for 10 seconds .... Does TV turn on and blinking green light turn to solid green.

  2. Unplug the TV from it's power source for various times, ranging between 5 minutes and 24 hours..... Does blinking green light continue upon plugging in the TV.

  3. Disconnect ALL devices from the TV; DVD, Tuner, Cable Box, unplug the TV for various duration times .... Does blinking green light continues upon plugging in the TV.

  4. Press Power and Menu buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.

  5. Press Power and Display buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.

  6. Insure that no front panel buttons are inadvertently stuck in an "engaged" position.

Diagnosis: If none of the above test resolve the issue, then the failure lies in one of the following:

  1. DM Module Capacitors have FAILED.
  2. DM Module is defective.
  3. EEPROM Board failure
  4. Power Supply failure.

Continuous green flashing light

ther are some bad capacitors on the dm board in this tv, but this model is not layman friendly, we usually send in the entire chassis to Mitsubishi for a rebuild this cost about $300 then there is the cost of service also, this job will probably cost around $5 or 600 dollars.
