Question about HP LaserJet 3050 All-In-One Printer
Hp lasjet 3050 scanner when pressing the (scan to) button an error message appears (not set up on pc). Will you please advise.
Desperately seeking solution.
If your still looking for a solution, or to those of you who have a similar problem, the following fixed my problem after trying to resolve the issue over the last year!!!!
I also received the "not set up on pc" message and tried re-installing the software numerous times.
Finally resorted to re-installing windows XP (because of this and other software glitches) and re-installed the Laserjet 3050 software again...but could not get the printer to install.
The problem was occuring while the software was asking to "plug in the usb cable", but would not complete the installation. It was not recognizing the device....the solution was to reset the laserjet 3050!!!!
to reset, push the "menu" button, < (left arrow), go to "service", "enter" button, > (right arrow), "Restore Defaults", "enter" button.
This should reset the factory defaults.
After this, I re-installed software, working!!!!!

GO TO YOUR CONTROL PANEL. CLICK ON AND OPEN DEVICES AND PRINTERS. SELECT YOUR PRINTER. YOU SHOULD SEE A SCAN A DOCUMENT OR PICTURE PROMPT TO THE RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE
WINDOW. CLICK ON IT AND IT WILL OPEN THE SCAN PROMPT AREA
WHERE YOU CAN SELECT YOUR PREFERENCES.

Easy solution, if the HP LJ 3050 scanner works with any program but the "Scan To" button is coming up with the error "not setup on PC." Go to the HP scanning software where you configure the "destinations" i.e. scan to email etc. There will be two columns and at the top will be a checkbox . Click that off which will disable the buttons and PC to connect, press apply or ok. Go back to the software and click the box back on. This will reestablish the link between the 3050 and the computer.
This will also fix the receive fax to PC issue as well.

Scanning software couid not be found or make sure your scanner is not connected. please make sure your scanner and your scanning software are properly installed

did you windows install drivers when you connected this printer?
is the interface usb version or LAN network?
