Your remote should have a button labeled menu (at least if it's the remote that came with the TV). Press that button. Somewhere in the menu there will be an option labeled "restore presets" or something like that. It varies from TV to TV, so that's as specific as I can get.

If you still have your owner's manual, it should have a breakdown of the menu options.

My little cousin messed up the color configuration on my Sansui dtv 2700 (27" CRT tv) and I don't know the numbers. There is brightness, contrast, color, tint, and sharpness. The lowest number is -32 and...

These settings are depends to personal preferencess and location brightness. I would suggest to set all of them to zero and then work your way out on individual settings. Obviously this tv is an old set (that is my assumption) so it does not have a factory reset.

Who would be able to help me with my t.v? the color settings are messed up

The best way to reset your hardware is to actually contact the Manufacturer. Ask how to reset the TV to FACTORY Settings. Original settings are generally the basic and best method to view TV from the start.

Something has happened to the color on my tv. it's lost the reds in the picture. face color is good. pinks, blues and greens are ok. i've unplugged and re-started. how do you go back to default...

Look for color temperature settings under the menu and video settings. If there is an overall factory reset or restore to factory settings, try that as a last resort.

Black Mess

Hi,

Most settings and configurations except the Parental Lock could be reverted to factory default by doing a full hard reset. This is done by simply unplugging the unit from the mains for a couple of hours (or overnight preferably). If done and the system/TV will do a reset, all your settings (color, brightness, program selection) will be back to normal (or factory default).

Most parental Locks works with a code or password. Unfortunately, often this requires the use of the original remote that came with the TV.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Color messed up

Most likely your visitor turned one of the controls located on the back of the TV. There are only two controls they are the right side of the set in the back. The top one is the focus and the bottom one is the SCREEN control. You can carefully rotate clockwise the screen control until the brightness is back to normal. If you go to high with it you will see faint diagonal lines going accross the picture.
