Driver I connect the camcorder with my pc. My pc cannot recognize the camcorder. Do you have driver that we can download to the pc? Thanks.

Did the camcorder come with a cd? If so install it.

This driver allows the computer to recognize the camera. It does not allow the transfer of data. Data Transfer is only possible if optional DVD Movie Album software is installed. This optional software is available through parts distributors, part number LSFT0643-1A. Please refer to our Customer support page for Parts distributor locations. To install driver - Please save the Zipped file to your desktop, Unzip, then connect your camcorder to your PC with the included USB cable and set the camcorder to playback mode. Then install the driver. You will get a setup error when trying to install the driver if the camcorder is not connected to the PC prior to installing the file.

You can download the driver free from the manufacture's website. It would be under the support or download tab on their page.
First download the driver. Once downloaded, double-click on the downloaded file so it extracts itself into your pc. After it completely installs, reboot pc, then turn on camera and lastly, connect the usb cable.

win vista and win 7doesn't support usb streaming. the usb driver for this model would not be compatible with your computer's OS. although, you were able to download PMB still this wouldn't work, it's basically an alternative software that you can use with the newer OS. still the device driver would not be installed. and you would get a message that "ilink connection is not detected". the reason you get that is bec the camcorder and the software is intended for use with the dv (ilink or ieee1394) connection. so if your computer has an ieee1394 card and you have a compatible ilink cable,then your good to go,it should be a plug-and-play connection (no drivers required). all you need then would be a video capturing software (like win moviemaker) to transfer videos from tape to PC. hope this helps. thanks :)

If your PC has DV link port, connect camera via DV link and transfer movie files in computer.
Other way is to hook camera with DVD recorder and burn DVD.

You will have to download drivers on to your pc for the camera. You may be able to get them at the panasonic website or others.
The driver has to be updated for pc to recognize the video camera. After driver is downloaded, turn camera on, than connect it to the pc.
Than, go to "my computer" and look to see if the camera drive is there.

you need a driver for that to be able to recognize your camcorder on your computer.

after you download the driver, install it to your pc and it should be recognizable after you done it.
as for editing, windows moviemaker is a good software for editing but i prefer to use Ulead Movie maker, Ulead Producer or anything about Ulead because its so easy to use for editing and saving a movie or video files from your camcorder. you can also use your usb for connecting the interface with your camcorder and pc. hope that helps you and thank you for using fixya. dont forget to rate thanks!
