Hitachi 50UX27K Rear Projection Big Screen TV. Picture is half size with a bowe at the Top and Bottom of the picture. Sometimes it will automatically come back to FUll Screen. Help Ken

What you are describing can be due to a number of different settings.

Focus on the red and green guns
Sharpness on the red and green guns
Horizontal position and size
Vertical position and size.

Please consult a professional for adjustment on these items as they are all near or connect to parts that have Hazardous Voltage.

I just had the convergence replaced and have a great picture

Replace Both of your STKs big black chips Stk392-110s use STK392-180s better ics Electronix Part 1-800-223-3205 for parts .If you need anymore help let me know. Cost in repair shop depends anywhere from 325.00 and up.STKs (180s) $9.99 each. You will also need white heat sink silicon to put on back of ICs.

you might have bad caps or the vertical output integrated circuit, try to locate the vertical ic and check the surrounding areas for bad capacitors.

You have a convergence problem
If the set has auto focus and will not complete its cycle.
The Auto focus module is bad, (expensive)
If it completes and the problem is still there.
Then check for bad conv. drivers (stk****) or cold solder joint on one or more of the 3 drivers pins.

I got a question.

Do you have any stereo speakers anywhere near your television?

This sounds like something a magnetic field could cause from speakers being too close to the tv.

If so try to relocate them and see if the problem goes away.

unit needs convergence ic's replaced.They are stk392-150 which is an upgraded part.
