When I plugged mine into my DV6000, windows recognized it and loaded its own set of drivers for it. I don't even use the included software. Just plug the usb drive into an available slot, it only goes in one way on one side and let windows recognize it and set it up. After that, when you open "my computer" you will see a couple of new additions, one is marked U3 and it will look either like a cd rom icon or a hard drive icon, the other one is right after the icon for U3, and that is the actual usb drive and it will have an icon like a hard drive. So if you see the U3 was given a drive letter of "E", then the actual Cruzer usb drive would be the icon marked "F". Open it and use it as you would any other hard drive. Good luck, ParrotHead PC Repair
