MY MONITOR IS BUSTED ON MY DV2000 NOTEBOOK. i TRIED AN EXTERNAL MONITOR...IT COMES UP WITH MONITOR GOIN TO SLEAP. iS THERE A STEP THAT I AM MISSING IN ORDER FOR MY LAPTOP TO AWAKEN THE MOPNITOR?

Reset your memory if not in properly it will not show video. if that doesn't work then plug a external monitor in the side port. if you get video then your LCD is bad if you dont then *********** board is bad

It appears to be a video card/mainboard problem very common with the symptoms you have described. Try to connect the laptop to an external monitor (see the associated buttons too). There are new laptops on the market more powerful than yours for about 500-600$. So you can make a choice.
