How to turn on subtitles

1. Press the SUBTITLES button on your remote to turn the Subtitles ON.
2. Press the SUBTITLES button again to turn the Subtitles OFF.

On the remote there is a button for Subtitles. Press that button and the Subtitles will disappear. If it is not on the remote then you have to find it in the TV's settings. 'Closed captions' are old words. We now call these 'Subtitles' and all TV's with remotes have a 'Subtitle' button. Look for it, then press while pointing the remote to the TV.

You will find it under captions not subtitles.

Look for the CC button on the remote, press on it until the subtitles (closed captions) are off.

Using remote, choose Menu>System Options>Caption Display and turn Caption Off

Some TVs have a cc button right on the remote that comes with the TV.

To switch off sub-titles on Bush 26" HD ReadyTV - the following has just worked for me 19.1.10
1) Select Features on Menu options
2) Switch Analog Subtitle to Off
3) Change Subtitle Type to Hearing Impaired

exact same problem here. my 9month old son has outsmarted me...plz respond, need help turning captions off. ruins sunday night football

I had a similar problem, checked all of the TV's control settings only to find out that my cable box had an independent "mute" function that automatically turned on the closed captions when activated. Once I found that and turned it off, all was fine.

Contact your TV service supplier to be sure that subtitles are available in HD ...
