How do I turn the subtitles off in my lg tv? - LG 32LG30 32 in. LCD HDTV

Subtitle setting is in the dvd setting not the tv, If the DVD would have CC it would be on the case, CC is encoded in to the tv signal

for some future reader, some tv's (Vestel brands) only likes Latin1 ecoded with CRLF. make sure you don't use UTF8

Sub-titles is not related to your TV.This menu/setting is manage from the Remote Control in our Video player.If your player is DVD, in the Remote control there you "subtitles" just turn it off(press it)Good luck

if you have a set top box its probably the solution, we had the same thing happen and it was the subtitles on the set top box just locate it on the remote and turn off

It seems that subtitle file must have exactly same name as movie file. For example: Movie file: Mission impossible.avi Subtitle file: Mission impossible.srt or Mission impossible.sub or Movie file: Mission_impossible.avi Subtitle file: Mission_impossible.srt

My Lg was doing the same thing. Every movie we watched had subtitles running at the bottom of the screen. The button was at the bottom of the remote. Once we pressed it, it came up on the screen saying CC/OFF. Also had this happen on same TV with DVD player and had to turn it off with the DVD remote. Subtitles OFF/ON

Hit the menu button, select options , select "hard of hearing", turn off and press ok.

If you've got a cable receiver, you can change that in the menu of that receiver.
Or maybe the setting on textpage 888.

Contact your TV service supplier to be sure that subtitles are available in HD ...
