I have a HP DC5000 SFF. It won't power on and I have two red blinking lights. Any ideas where to start?

After looking a little closer, it looks like the power light is blinking red three times. The disk light appears to be just a reflection off the disk light.

just to clarify, is it 1 light blinking twice or two lights blinking? is there a pattern to the blinking?

Hi,
Unplug the unit from the wall for a couple of hours to see if the unit will reset and turn on.
If it won't turn on after a couple of hours please post back.

make sure both the 4 pin and 20 pin connectors are firmly installed. if the mobo light flashes how many times does it flash, do you hear any beeps?

should be problem with ur motherboard or smps, take it to a service centre

Power indicator blinks red

According to the shop manual (found at http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00261093/c00261093.pdf), this indicates no memory. You should open the case, remove and reinstall the memory modules. You might want to use some compressed air to blow out the sockets prior to reinserting the memory modules). If this doesn't work, you'll need to replace the memory.

Hi iam acomputer engineer and i used to maintain power supplies but there is a problem i coudn't solve with hp dc5000 power supply it flashes red when pressing the power switch

If the bottom light flashes red 4 times then repeats itself the power supply is defective.

Check the cables connection first.

Check if the power supply fan and cpu fan are working
If not you need to replace your power supply.
