Dc 5000 sff. wont power up. green light on motherbd flashes. if power on button is pushed, the front green led blinks too. I have replaced the pwr supply w/no change.

make sure both the 4 pin and 20 pin connectors are firmly installed. if the mobo light flashes how many times does it flash, do you hear any beeps?

Hp compaq dc 7100 , my problem is that as i start my pc than 4 beep with time interval 0.2 sec with led than after 0.5 sec it start again , remain continously

Are they Long Beeps? Does the RED led light on the front show up?
If there is no RED led light blinking, then the problem is your RAM.
If there IS a RED led Light showing up, then the problem is your Power Supply.

The power at the start is red and not green how can i know what is the problem is it the power supply or others please answer me.....

Power LED flashes Red,
once every two seconds.
OR
Power LED flashes Red four
times, once every second,
followed by a two second
pause.

Would this be the symptom?

If so, then yes, the Power Supply is bad.

What causes this?

1) A large percentage is due directly to the fact, that the computer is dirty inside, as well as the inside of the Power Supply.

2) A smaller percentage is that the Power Supply is a low quality unit, installed by the computer manufacturer.

Computer unplugged from power, computer case open, anti-Static precautions observed.

Using a can of compressed air for computers on a regular basis as needed, would help prevent Power Supply failure.

Is the dc5000 the Small Form Factor, or the Micro-Tower, style?
(SFF style looks like a Pizza Box)

Will look up Power Supply replacement for you if you wish, and information on replacing it.

Computer will not start

It all depends how many beeps there were.
From http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12253_div/12253_div.HTML
Diagnostic LED Explanation Table Number of 1-second red LED blinks followed by 2-second pause, then repeats:
2-processor thermal protection activated
3-processor not installed
4-power supply failure
5-memory error
6-video error
7-PCA failure (ROM detected failure prior to video)
8-invalid ROM, bootblock recover mode

I have only really come across 4 beeps = order new Power Supply or 5 Beeps = reseat the memory and hope it works

Oli

You need to try and find troubleshooting codes on their website, but the blinking and beeps is actually a code that will tell you exactly what is wrong with it if you know the codes.

HP COMPAQ D530 RED BLINKING LIGHT WITH BEEPING SOUNDS.

4 beeps & 4 flashes mean problem with the power supply. For my experience, most of the time the PSU is good, it is just overloaded.
