I can set to heat, reheat or anything, but when I press to start, a digital message states: place the glass microwave plate in the microwave. I also tried the baking feature, the same message except for states "metal dish" instead. Once I could not use it, the light has remained on.I am not sure if it is an issue with the door, I can't find anyplace to tighten it nor anyplace to open and unscrew the light...nervous about fire from bulb overheating. Thanks!

The
first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a
minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.
If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for maybe an hour. Then let us know if the hard reset does not fix it.
It may be a problem with a door switch or door switch mount.

Sounds like you have a faulty control panel. I would use a meter and test the power from the control board to the magnetron and circuit board. Chances are the control panel is faulty

Your magnatron has failed. This is the component that produces the microwaves that heat the food.
The cost of the magnetron is about 90% of the total cost of a microwave oven. Most people don't, for this reason, replace the magnetron, they replace the whole oven. There is a possibility that the circuit that provides power to the magnetron is faulty and you need to take it apart and find the proper electrical leads and test them with a volt meter. To do this you have to remove it from its mounting and take it apart. Easier and cheaper to replace it

I just had exactly the same problem with the same oven, did you find a solution yet?

Have a shop look at this---there usually is a recessed safety switch inside the jam that will prevent the unit from working with door open--sounds like the problem may be with it.
