EVERYONE:

There are two different QuickCam Fusions. The older one, like mine, is not UVC compatable, while the new one is. For this reason, the new QuickCam Fusion will work on Mac while the old one will not.

It is semi-pleasing to know that a developer is supposedly working on the old quickcam fusion support in Macam, but I'm not sure how long that will take.

Solution: Wait for that developer.

Ditto for me with 10.4.11. You have A/V iChat in Tiger. If you plug the camera into either USB port, launch iChat, wait for the iChat, then under video check camera enabled (if not already) and then under the same menu click "Video Preview", the light on Fusion should come on and a window should open which is a picture of live video from Fusion.
NOW .... what is this streaming format? iChat so far is the only place it works (or needs to work for now!), but what about iMovie? How does one record this camera? That is where I'm going now.
Starting with downloading latest QTime. I'll be back.

All the reviews that say the logitech fusion cams don't run on mac's are just plain wrong.  I just bought the camera and plugged it into my powerpc G4, started skype and ichat and it worked instantly.
no drivers or downloads needed.  I'm running OS X 10.4.11

If you're using a mac, as pointed out above, you don't need a disc, it works without one. Open Skype of ichat and you will have the camera running without having to do anything else. Open preferences and set it up as you'd like and then forget about it. One thing I'm trying to figure out is how to get the controls that are available when run in windows. I don't really care if I can't work this out though, I'm happy with the settings achieved under the native mac applications so I can't be bothered to go very far with that line of enquiry. My wife is the windows head in the family. I have lost count of the number of times she's had to reformat and clean install her laptop. COnstructive input has deteriorated into debate about the most fail-safe way to dispose of said waste of space or end the missery of the user..... Get a life! Get a Mac!!! If you are using Windows, go to the logitech site and download the software, they're pretty helpful on the support side, it's just a shame that their software doesn't always download properly on the first attempt. If it doesn't behave as you think it should, try deleting it all and downloading again. Unless you have full control over your device and everything makes sense, doubt the download, Just think of the 'logi' in the name. Logitech are good, their downloads are less than reliable. Persevere!

QuickCam fusion webcam doesn't take pics of a higer resolution than 960x720

Normal 0 Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the CD or Downloaded software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud

Install for mac

http://webcam-osx.sourceforge.net/

macam is a driver for USB webcams on Mac OS X. It allows hundreds of USB webcams to be used by many Mac OS X video-aware applications. The aim is to support as many webcams as possible.

That should solve your problem.

Mac OS 10.4 or Above

To use a Logitech camera on your Mac OS X computer, please purchase a Logitech camera that is UVC compliant, this camera will have basic functionality for use with a third party application but no additional features will be available such as (Rightlight, Rightsound or Video Effects)

All UVC Complaint Webcams listed in table below

This article applies to the following platforms:
Macintosh OS X 10.4.9 - 10.5.2

The Logitech webcams listed below are UVC (Universal Video Class) compliant and can be used with operating systems which fully support this standard; including Mac OS 10.4.9 and above.

Please note that standard UVC drivers are provided by the Operating System and will provide minimal camera support only. Unique Logitech features, such as RightLight and Video Effects are not functional via UVC drivers.

Furthermore, we recommend the use of a full Logitech installation package, where available, for supported operating systems such as Windows XP and Windows Vista.

Logitech Quickcam Fusion!

Instead of plugging the webcam in after the computer is running, I plugged in while it was shut down. The first time the computer booted with the webcam attached it took approximatly 2 minutes longer to boot, but every boot after has been as fast as ever. Webcam works great now!
