Logitech Quickcam Fusion!

Hey,
My quickcam fusion is installed on my laptop (just over a year old) and everytime I pluc it into the USB port the computer lags to the point of it freezing. My computer runs Vista (very well I must add) but it seems that whenever I plug in the camera it locks up. I've stopped all other programs running and tried, and tried when all other programs that may use this program are turned off. I don't know what else to try, any ideas?

Instead of plugging the webcam in after the computer is running, I plugged in while it was shut down. The first time the computer booted with the webcam attached it took approximatly 2 minutes longer to boot, but every boot after has been as fast as ever. Webcam works great now!

SOURCE: logitech quickcam fusion camera is in use

Webcam software is notorious for remaining hooked up on old programs it was used in - even if you have exited the program correctly. You have to reboot the software by unplugging the camera for a few seconds from the USB

QuickCam fusion webcam doesn't take pics of a higer resolution than 960x720

Normal 0 Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the CD or Downloaded software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud

Is a new installation needed?

The quickcam software is about 5-7mb, the fusion is about 11-15mb.

Fusion for Vista supports 30 frames per second (4X faster than a quick cam)

goto this link and download upgrades etc, choose the OS etc.

Running a Logitech Quickcam Fusion webcam on a Mac

EVERYONE:

There are two different QuickCam Fusions. The older one, like mine, is not UVC compatable, while the new one is. For this reason, the new QuickCam Fusion will work on Mac while the old one will not.

It is semi-pleasing to know that a developer is supposedly working on the old quickcam fusion support in Macam, but I'm not sure how long that will take.

Solution: Wait for that developer.
