Logitech Quickcam install on a Mac OS X or mac laptop

I have a Logitech Quickcam that I want to install on my mac laptop. The people at Radioshack told me it is compatible with Mac. Can you help me by telling me the walkthrough installation of this webam.  I cannot get the Logitech Quickcam Connect (E 2500 Series) to work with my Mac Powerbook G4 on OS X - Can you help ? I have the same problem.  My wife received the QuickCam Connect E 2500 series (M/N V-UCV39; P/N 860-000114; PID LZ829BQ) for her birthday.  Givers under impression it would work with Macam but Macam cannot see the device. Running Mac OS 10.5.6.  Is there any way to make this work?

It almost works under the CVS Build (work in progress) of Macam but video is blocky. But this would indicate that a fix is on the way. Let's hope it's soon :-)

the shyster salesgirl at radioshack told me that this would work on a mac as well. no dice. apple DOES offer a webcam on their site for $129...

    "The people at Radioshack"
    "the shyster salesgirl at radioshack"

Don't ask people at Radio Shack to help you with deciding whether a given product works with your computer. They are not the authority, and they are very unlikely to ever be one. Use the Internets to help you decide whether something is compatible.

I own a QuickCam Connect E2500 Series cam, and I'm also looking for guidance on how to get this working. Unfortunately, it appears that the macam project is stagnating, with little development, and attempting to build it from the latest CVS checkout using XCode results in compilation errors. (If you didn't understand the last sentence: nothing to see here, move on.)

For what it's worth, the CVS build dated February 2, 2009 does in fact work, just not well. As "grahambm" states, it's blocky.

I'm resigned to either using Windows XP in a VM, or tossing it on the junk pile.
